✅ Mount Asama is an active complex volcano in central Honshu, the main island of Japan. The volcano is the most active on Honshu. The Japan Meteorological Agency classifies Mount Asama as rank A. It stands 2,568 metres above sea level on the border of Gunma and Nagano prefectures.

Along the streets of Karuizawa Japan

Momiji” （紅葉）refers to the brilliant red maple tree, which has the same kanji as “koyo” (紅葉). Koyo references the autumn season when the leaves change to beautiful colors like purple, gold, and especially red.

Similar to the crowds that gather for hanami in spring, many people in Japan also enjoy the autumn foliage called “momijigari.” It is a popular tradition for Japanese people to celebrate one of the most beautiful features of autumn.

Fushimi Inari Taisha Sembon Torii (Thousand Torii Gates)

Also known as “O-inari-san”, Inari shrines are the most familiar shrines to Japanese people.

There are said to be some thirty thousand throughout the country, frequented by people of all ages.

Fushimi Inari Taisha is the head shrine with which all the others are affiliated.

In the 1300 years since its establishment in 711AD, people have gathered here to pray for bountiful harvests, business prosperity, the safety of their home and family and the fulfillment of all kinds of other wishes.

In recent years, the shrine’s Japanese worshippers have been joined by overseas visitors coming to pray or tour the shrine. Fushimi Inari Taisha is now known worldwide as one of the most iconic sights in Kyoto, and in Japan as a whole.

The Biwako Ohashi “bridge” is actually two bridges. The newer 1.4-kilometer bridge has an observatory at its apex, which is 26.3 meters above the lake’s surface. Many cyclists stop at the observatory to enjoy picturesque panoramas of the Hira mountains and the Ukimido floating temple hall. When the weather is clear, distant Chikubu Island can be seen in the northern part of the lake along with Mt. Ibuki to its east.
