The yellow sky~
When I was working at an academy in the Philippines, I had this one Korean student. He was feeling down during his stay. He was in a slump, feeling so old in his late 30s and feeling like he hadn’t achieved anything yet.
In our class, he would ask for a 10-minute break not to have snacks or coffee or go out of the small room to get some fresh air — he would just stretch out his legs and look up in the ceiling and smile.
I asked what he was thinking and he said,
“Isn’t the yellow sky pretty?”
I looked up and just saw the white ceiling.
“Look closer,” he insisted.
Indeed, there was a yellow sky on the white ceiling drenched in the afternoon glow of the setting sun.
What a great reminder to never forget to see beauty in mundane things. 💛

I think Japan is the best place to enjoy the beautiful autumn foliage 🍁 🇯🇵
You can see how much effort they put into beautifying their towns. This one isn’t even a tourist spot but this road deserves an award for being this gorgeous 😍

Finally uploading photos of our trip to Kyoto on November 3rd. Kumi loved the village and the refreshing atmosphere. We were both amazed by the unique design of the houses.
The thatched roof keep the houses warm in the winter and cool in the summer.🌿

Looking back 🎥
In a few months, I will have been living in Japan for 7 years. I ask myself…
What have I learned?
What have I accomplished?
What have I earned?
Am I somewhere closer to my life goals?
Actually, I’m still far away from being successful. I don’t have my dream job yet. I don’t have a lot of savings. I don’t have a lot of investments. I don’t have properties (anymore). I don’t have kids yet.
But 2 months ago, I just suddenly told Joe, “I’m satisfied now.” What seemed to me like a pure declaration of happiness in life turned out to be Joe’s biggest surprise that day.
“You shouldn’t be just yet. It’s too early to say that,” he protested.
“It’s not the end yet for me. I just wanted to say that I appreciate what I have now but I’m still going to fulfill my goals but again I’m happy where I am now,” I explained.
He couldn’t fully grasp what I meant but I assured him with a grateful hug for just hearing me out and worrying about me.
Lahi jud mig panghuna huna ni Joe. Makulbaan jud na sya pirmi nako hahaha (just like mangulba si Tina sa akong posts haha).
But I get what he’s trying to tell me. ☺️
Looking back at conversations like this with my husband makes me realize that I have learned so many things from him and living here in Japan. I, together with Joe, accomplished so many things. And I have earned a lifelong partner in him. ❤️

Kyushu Trip Part 3
Next stop is the Beppu "Jigoku Meguri" Hells Tour or very commonly known as Hells of Beppu.
A famous geothermal city with hot springs reaching 100 degrees celsius, Beppu attracts so many tourists with its seemingly hellish smoke belching out of pipes and canals almost everywhere around this spot.
Our first hell, I mean, stop is the Umi Jigoku. Umi is sea. Jigoku is hell.
This hot spring looks like the water in Maldives, Okinawa, or Samal in Davao! 😂

But yeah! Pramis! Amazing!!
The smoke or mist is so dense you can easily get wet and mafeel jud nimo ang droplets of water sa mist.
Caution: It stinks. Lol
But sooo worth it❤️
