🫒The Olive Island of Japan🗾
オリーブの島「香川県小豆島」

Located in Kagawa Prefecture and known as the second largest island in Seto Inland Sea, it is believed to be one of the first islands created by gods in Japanese mythology.

Its name literally translates to “小small 豆bean 島island,” originally referred to azuki beans but now is even better known for its olive plantations.🫒💚

Starting my November by sharing one of my favorite autumn destinations in the Kansai region, Makino Metasequoia Avenue in Shiga Prefecture. 🗾🍂

This place is beautiful all year round, but during autumn, it transforms into a breathtaking sight that perfectly captures the essence of this season.🧡
Located in the quiet surroundings of Shiga prefecture, Makino Metasequoia Avenue showcases rows upon rows of stunning metasequoia trees that stretch as far as the eye can see.🥹
As I've visited this place during summer before, I remember vividly how refreshing it was to be surrounded by vibrant and lush greenery.🍃💚

Winter also makes this place pretty; you'll see how snow will decorate the metasequoia trees, giving a winter wonderland atmosphere.❄️
And I wish to see it someday.☺️

🇹🇭Wat Benchamabophit, also known as the Marble Temple in Bangkok, Thailand, is a must-visit architectural wonder.🧡
Often referred to as the “marble temple,” it lives up to its name with stunning details and gorgeous craftsmanship.✨ The imported Italian marble used for this temple boasts outstanding colors and intricate designs that add to its beauty.🤩

Visitors can see a magnificent Buddha image inside- a replica of the highly revered Phra Buddhajinaraja. The beamed ceiling in dark red and gold adds an elegant touch to the overall ambiance of this peaceful sanctuary.😍

When we visited, there were only a few people around, allowing us to fully appreciate the tranquility of this temple.😌

📚Japan always surprises me with the unexpected beauty of a bookstore. Who would have thought next to a small station in the countryside has this public library, Tsutaya bookstore, and Starbucks!☕️ And Tsutaya never disappoints with its aesthetic ambiance. 😍

When you travel to the countryside in Japan, you may have to wait more than 30 minutes for the next train, sometimes even an hour, or more than that.😅 So, it completely makes sense to have a place where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or a frappuccino while reading some books rather than just pass the time with your phone while waiting for the next train.🚃

インスタ映え間違いなしの図書館が岡山県に!🤩
ここは高梁駅のすぐ隣にある私立図書館。
TSUTAYA Bookstore とスタバもあり、一人でのんびりしたい時やもし次の電車の待ち時間が長い時に行くのに丁度良いですね。☺️☕️📚

Otsukimi 🎑

Today is moon viewing day (お月見 Otsukimi)! 🎑 Can you see the full moon from your place?🌕

Otsukimi is a cherished Japanese tradition where people admire the autumn moon. It typically falls on the 15th day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar. Originating in China and introduced to Japan in the Heian period, aristocrats enjoyed moon-gazing, composing poetry, and playing music. During the Edo period, common people embraced it as a harvest festival to thank the moon god.

To enjoy otsukimi, people decorate with pampas grass symbolizing the moon god, and savor moon viewing dumplings (tsukimi dango) and seasonal fruits and vegetables. Some make wishes for good health, happiness, and success.

Otsukimi is a charming part of Japanese culture, providing an opportunity to appreciate nature and the seasons. Have a wonderful moonlight viewing!

Omoide Yokocho means alleyway of memories when directly translated. 🏮

Located by the West Exit of Shinjuku Station in Tokyo, Omoide Yokocho is a bar district that comes alive at night.🍻

Stepping into this alleyway feels like stepping back in time to the good old days. I had the pleasure of visiting twice, once before the pandemic in 2019 and again this year in June. Time may have flown, but the vibes remain unchanged. ❤️‍🔥

This area is one place you simply must visit if you're looking for a drink and some delicious yakitori. 🍖🍺The smell of sizzling skewers fills the air as both locals and tourists gather to enjoy cold beers and mouthwatering grilled chicken bites.

Omoide Yokocho truly captures the essence of Tokyo's vibrant nightlife scene while offering an unforgettable taste of traditional Japanese cuisine.🇯🇵

Did you know Japan is the only country in the world with a public holiday dedicated to showing appreciation for the ocean and its blessings?🌊

Today, on July 17, we celebrate Marine Day, known as "Umi no Hi" (海の日) in Japan.💙This unique public holiday falls in the middle of summer and occurs on the third Monday of July each year. It serves as a perfect opportunity for people to go to the beach, indulge in water activities, or even visit an aquarium!

Marine Day being exclusive to Japan, highlights their deep respect for nature and desire to honor all the ocean provides. So if your country also has Marine Day, how would you like to celebrate it?😉✨

Catholic Church in Maguro, Tokyo.⛪️

This was taken the day after I got stranded in Tokyo last month. It had been a chaotic and stressful experience, but my friend's kindness made all the difference.☺️When they learned about my situation, they immediately offered their place to stay that night. Grateful beyond words, I accepted their generous offer, feeling blessed to have such caring friends.🥰

And I remember a Catholic Church I had always longed to visit in Meguro. Surprisingly, it was just a walking distance from my friend's flat, so we were able to go there the next day before I headed to Tokyo station.🚉
All thanks to my friends who made me enjoy being stranded in Tokyo.☺️💖

It almost slipped my mind that I took plenty of pictures during my visit to Gotokuji temple. 🐱

Sometimes I focus on posting reels, but my inner voice keeps telling me to edit and post more photos that capture those special moments before they become forgotten memories tucked away in our camera rolls forever. 💌📷
