SHOOTING INCIDENT IN TANZA,CAVITE
Camp BGen Pantaleon Garcia, Imus City, Cavite - The elements of Tanza Police Station swiftly responded after a traffic enforcer personally appeared at the station to report a shooting incident that transpired in Brgy. Daang Amaya 2, Tanza, Cavite, at 5:50 in the afternoon on May 28, 2023.
Based on the initial investigation conducted, it was revealed that prior to the incident, the suspect, Joseph Llagas, a resident of St. John Subdivision, Brgy. B**a Tanza, Cavite, was driving a motorcycle while under the influence of alcohol. The victim, William Mentes Quiambao, apprehended the suspect, leading to a heated argument. Without any apparent reason, the suspect shot the victim three times in the back of his head.
Subsequently, the suspect immediately fled the scene with his black Mio i 125 motorcycle bearing temporary plate number 0401-0364688, accompanied by his accomplice Aries Carlos, in an unknown direction.
The victim sustained gunshot wounds and was promptly brought to the Tanza Specialist Medical Center, for medical attention but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician, Dr. Richard Doria, due to multiple gunshot wounds.
Recovered from the crime scene were one (1) deformed .45 caliber slug; and five (5) empty cartridges of Cal .45 which were used in the commission of the crime and will be submitted to the Provincial Forensic Unit for ballistics examination.
The tracker teams recovered the motorcycle used by the suspects at Casanueva, Brgy. B**a, Tanza, Cavite.
PBGen Carlito M. Gaces, the Regional Director of PRO CALABARZON, directed PCol Christopher F. Olazo, the Provincial Director of Cavite Police Provincial Office for the immediate arrest of the suspects. Furthermore, the Officer-In-Charge of Tanza coordinated with nearby police stations for a dragnet operation, and simultaneously a tracker team together with Cavite Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) has been organized to track down the whereabouts of the fleeing suspects.
