HOLINESS REVIVAL MOVEMENT WORLDWIDE HOREMOW

Daily Devotional by Pastor Paul Rika International Director

DATE: SUNDAY 13TH MARCH

TOPIC: QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS FOR YOUR CLARIFICATION

TEXT: Matthew 24: 3, 4

Key verse: 1 Peter 3: 15; But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

QUESTION 1: Should a Christian barb any type of hairstyle such as ‘J5’ or ‘Punk?’

That is worldliness. You shall know them by their fruits. Some draw things on their heads for a show and barb their hair for fashion. Some pastors and bishops also imitate these styles. Some brethren wear nickers to conform to these worldly styles.

They cannot enter heaven. It is defilement in their garments of righteousness. Be responsible even in your barbing. You can see the world is gradually returning to bushy hair styles and growing of bears. A Christian should avoid that. Long hair is the glory of women but a shame to men.

Love not the world. The woman in slit, perforated skirts with jewellery and painted lips and nails in their adornment, perming, hair attachment and weavon argue that their beauty is dependent on jewellery; that is why they use them. All these are artificiality.

God completed His work on man and assessed it as very good. Doing otherwise is challenging the intelligence of God. God is asking if you can add to the natural beauty of the world. You better repent now.

Can these artificial flowers take over the beauty of the natural flowers? Women who keep themselves clean should stand to it. Unclean pastors encourage ungodly dressings and adornment. They will answer for their folly.

Question 2: Can a Christian use perfume?

Every living creature is created with a saint or fragrance. It applies to fruits, meat, soup, human beings, etc. This unnatural saint or fragrance you are adding to yourself is iniquity.

God builds scents into fruits and animals to show their respective peculiarity. If your body odour is unnatural, it is rather sickness. You need medical counsel or prayer from Pastors. But perfumes can be used on properties or things like offices, hospital, toilets etc.

Mary's anointing of Jesus was prophetic of His death. Use of powder as an item of beauty and attraction is sinful. The Christian woman should avoid that. The glory of the Lord is what you should look for. To use powder at home for medication or heat is not an offence.

Question 3: Should sisters use tights as underwear?

Tights are not made for men but for women as inner wear. It should not be exposed. When the woman exposes it publicly, it means something else. Godly women do not do that. Okay?

Thought for the day: Don't ruin your Christian life in darkness, ask questions

TOPIC: PROMOTING LOVE AND HOLINESS IN CHRISTIANITY

TEXT: Ephesians 4: 3 – 7

Key verse: 1 Peter 1: 22 “Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:”

If we don't promote love, our holiness is vain. If we lack love, our faith is vain. Satan will like to put hatred in your heart against each other. The women caused hatred between David and Saul by their song. That brought lasting enmity between David and Saul.

The mismanagement of this information led King Saul to hell. When the disciples reported to Jesus the man they saw casting out demons in His name to provoke jealousy in Him, rather He rebuked them.

Joshua suggested Moses should stop the two people among the seventy prophesying in the camp, Moses instead was optimistic of the development and wished all God's children were prophets. To promote love, we must adhere to the following: 1, We must see others as ourselves;

We must see ourselves and churches in Christ as one; not as denominational church but as those in Christ having one body (Christ), one Spirit (Holy Spirit), one hope (heaven), one Lord (Jesus Christ), one faith (the word), one baptism (baptism of regeneration) and one God and father of all.

In the southern Nigeria, we have petroleum deposit that is used by all Nigerians and other nations. Similarly, God sees only one church. God has made us one. We have these seven oneness; we will promote one body. 2. We must be ready for the LORD to cleanse us; Ezekiel 36: 33 -36;

Defilement was going on among the Israelites; the hatred among them bred bloodshed upon the land; many hated without a cause. God wants to sanctify them and remove uncleanness from them. He promised He will cleanse and renew them to serve His purpose.

Anyone wanting to bring darkness of hatred among believers, God will judge him for bringing defilement among the children of God. They are polluting the name of God for lack of love and bringing shame to the name of the Lord. God wants to give you a new and a soft heart that can be subordinate to Him.

3 We must judge ourselves so we could be judged by no man; Don't allow separation in the leadership. Pair up yourselves in prayer get any ugly situation arrested.

Where things are not happening well, take it to God in prayer. Your love for one another should be without pretence. The heart is a difficult part of man but if taken to God in prayer, He circumcises it.

When the body is Esau's and the voice is Jacob's among brethren; something is wrong. See that you love one another with a pure heart. Perfect one another in love and holiness.

Thought for today: Love is central to the unity of the body; let's promote it

Song for the day: Though we are many, we are one body………

HOLINESS REVIVAL MOVEMENT WORLDWIDE HOREMOW

Daily Devotional by Pastor Paul Rika International Director

DATE: FRIDAY 11TH MARCH

TOPIC: PRAY CONSTANTLY

TEXT: Luke 18: 1-7

Key verse: 1 Thessalonians 5:17; Pray without ceasing.I wish My children, whilst upon earth, to live more and more with Me in “the heavenly places”.

Here, there is no fear or hurry or fret of spirit. I am gratified when you wait upon Me –which waiting I always honour. My thoughts, as you wait upon Me, are impressed upon you: all that I am must be increasingly absorbed by you.

It is as you wait upon Me that I give to you that sense of calm assurance which you must carry about with you always. It comes from knowing that everything you have committed to Me is being surely worked out.

Yes, immerse yourself in Me –and do not look anxiously within yourself to see what you are becoming! My child, wait much upon Me.

Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will act”; Psalm 37:5

My child, irrespective of what you consider to be your own merit (or failure), irrespective of how you feel, always cling to the certainty that I am answering your prayers. My loved ones have to learn utter dependence upon Me –not upon flunctuating moods, or upon My revelations to them!

Just be patient with yourself, knowing that My constant influence simply cannot help prevailing in your life. Although My purposes cannot be frustrated, they can, of course, be held up.

They can be held up if you allow the continued presence in your life of things hurtful to me. They can be held up by doubting Me, while confidence in Me was perfectly possible for you.

"Everything that you ask and pray for, believe that you have it already and it will be yours"; Mark 11:24.

My child, there is an ideal preparation for answered prayer! That preparation is ensuring that your whole life increasingly reflects your trust in My love — and My power over all creation.

Seeking the help or the healing of those known to you, do not always look for instant, superficial results…Know that your prayer releases My healing power. Yes, it is flowing through your prayer!

That power is loosening any hold which evil may have in a particular situation. Thank Me that the person for whom you pray has been drawn closer to Me.

Thank Me that this, and all your prayers — made with My love and power firmly in your mind are being greatly used. What a privilege to know that you are linked with My loving, saving activity among My children! ALLELIUA

TOPIC: LIVING A LIFE OF DAILY FORGIVENESS

TEXT: Matthew 18: 25 - 35

Key verse: Mark 11: 26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses."

Jesus' teaching on forgiveness is that those who have obtained forgiveness from God should also offer forgiveness to men. You require forgiveness from the men you offended and the men that offended you require your forgiveness also. Ask for forgiveness from men and be ready to forgive also.

Obtain forgiveness from both God and men. Learn to forgive people their offenses against you. If you claim forgiveness from God and cannot give man same, your forgiveness from God stands cancelled because God's forgiveness is conditional.

The master of that servant in our text forgave him much but he could not forgive his fellow servant less. He was punished for his refusal to forgive. To have our sins removed and enjoy freedom, we are instructed to do the following:

Ask God to forgive you and others too; Matthew 6: 12, 14, 15

Show your gratitude for God's forgiveness to us through Christ Jesus;

Ephesians 4: 32 “And be ye kind one to another, tender hearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.”

Colossians 3: 13 "Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye."

Forgive so as to be forgiven by your fellow men;

Mark 11: 25–26 "And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

Forgive so that your prayers can be answered. When somebody asks you to forgive him, forgive him from your heart. Learn to forgive and be forgiven. Forgiveness is a demonstration of love to the offended; (Luke 7: 44 – 47)

Rebuke your offending brother and forgive him if he repents; (Luke 17:3-4)

Remind your brother of his sins against you and forgive him; (Matthew 18: 15 – 17)

Go and discuss with your brother. Tell him his fault and forgive him if he repents.

Diligently examine the matter before you conclude on it; (Deuteronomy 19:15).

Thought for today: Your forgiveness depends on forgiveness

Song for the day: Create in me a clean heart, Oh LORD

TOPIC: KEEPING THE FAITH IN THE HEAVENLY RACE SUNDAY 6 TH MARCH

TEXT: Luke 14: 28-30

Key verse: John 19: 30 "When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost."

Paul was mindful in the Christian race and finished his course. He ran till he arrived at the conclusion. What mattered most to him was his keeping the faith. It is keeping the faith that actually brought him reward.

Many went into the course but never finished the race. Many finished the race but never kept the faith nor observed the rule of the race. They may run, finish but never observe the principles governing the race.

Do not only run the race but finish by keeping the faith lest you run in vain. Do you know the principle in the race and how to run it to the end? The angel told Elijah to rise and eat more. This he did and gained extra energy to cover the distance involved in his race.

1 Corinthians 9: 27 "But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway."

The race could be finished but the rules not observed. Therefore run the race and keep the standard for a reward ending.

Many people don't bother about the thoroughness of the race neither are they looking for perfection of life in the race. Know that you can finish the course and yet without success at the end.

1 Timothy 4: 12-16

12 "Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee." Give wholesome attendance to them lest you run the race amiss.

Be careful, be diligent and humble yourself before the Almighty God, continue in these things, for it is in doing these, that your race will be guaranteed. Else, you will be busy gathering a congregation that will not enter heaven.

Jesus Christ was the greatest man on the earth; He ran the race; finished the course and kept the faith. He finished well. You too can finish well.

John 19: 30 "When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost."

Jesus did not finish the course with burden and regrets; He finished with edification. He finished with the faith. He kept the rule of the faith. He got the rewards. The final end of Jesus is the best end of mankind. He gave the best benefit to mankind.

Thought for today: Finishing well is keeping the faith

TOPIC: LEARN TO DISCERN TRUE REVELATION MESSAGE FOR YOUR SPIRITUAL WELLBEING

Text Matthew 16:15-19

Key verse: Matthew 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

We have things that are true and things that are false in this life. We have God and Satan. We have light and darkness. We have original and fake, so on and so forth. In the same way, there are also false and true revelation messages. It is important we know the difference between these two. We need to know the challenges against them.

However, we know that false revelations cannot stand because they are not founded on the rock. The gospel Paul brought was according to the scripture. It is the truth of this gospel that saved me; I am convinced of this gospel. I delivered to you what I first received. The gospel I brought centred on Christ's death and resurrection.

This revelation of the truth is to make you know Jesus and to give you a heart that will stand for him and to also reveal to you the true worship of God and expose you to truth that will deliver you from false teachers. These revelations have been examined to see that they are according to the scriptures.

We are to watch out and note that Satan can sponsor somebody or some persons in this Movement to perverse the pure revelations the Lord has given us. Christianity is not only in the gospel but in the life. The revelations we bring to you are according to scriptures therefore beware of evil revelations. Don't begin to run after revelations. It is not every way animals follow.

Matthew 13: 24 "Another parable put He forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of Heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:"

There are good seed revelations from God which are wheat and there are evil revelations from the enemy which are tares. You can separate them by the word of God. These true revelations settled the argument in Christianity.

Sure, God will preserve His true revelations. God will always separate false revelations from the true ones. There are two types of people in the church: the deceived and the deceivers. Leave the deceivers in the hands of God but persuade the deceived to recover them.

To discover true revelation; don't listen to the voice of strangers, don’t submit to denominational tradition, avoid those that cause division in the church of Christ (Romans 16:17,18). Avoid books on false revelations and messages and be steadfast in the faith. Rapture will meet us in this faith. Hallelujah!

TOPIC: THE DEMON SPIRIT OF INDECENT, WORLDLY AND NAKED DRESSING

TEXT: MARK 5:1-8, 15

Key Verse: Mark 5:15-And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

What about these ones moving on the street today that expose their thighs, breasts and every part of the body? Something is responsible. When the unclean spirit came out of his mind, the Bible says, they saw him that was possessed with the devil and had a legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind.

These ones exposing their nakedness on the street are not in their right minds. These girls that sit down and you see through their privacy are not in their right minds. These women that move about and you see their breasts outside are not in their right minds either.

These ones also that dress with insufficient cloths on them are not equally in their right senses too. Demons and evil spirits, a legion of spirits, have possessed them. So, it will require salvation and deliverance to JESUS CHRIST, to bring them out of darkness to their right minds.

Then will they be clothed when they are in their right minds. In this scattered mind, even if you sew a good dress for them, they will not take it. Rather they will take it to their tailor for amendment to suit their ungodly desire or they will not wear it at all. Within these folks; your child can be one of them, not being in their right minds.

When you make good dress, he or she will take it back to the tailor and direct him to tear one part, pull down that part and protrude the other part like this or like that; because they are not in their right minds. They need the gospel of Jesus to bring them to their right senses. When Noah woke up from his sleep, God brought the situation to him.

It appeared that Ham had one child and did not give birth to any other male child. He had one male child whose name was Canaan and giving birth stopped in him. Remember that they had grown up and married before the flood and came out of the same flood and became established; enough to plant a vineyard to mature and bear fruits.

It showed that it was quite after many years after the flood, though some might still have been giving birth but Noah cursed that child, for the father’s sake. This your child that is supposed to propagate your name and live a glorious life to your praise, cannot do that anymore. He shall be a servant of servants. Learn to live right!

Thought for the day: Preach and pray for the deliverance of those under this spirit and demon.

TOPIC: FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT IN A CHRISTIAN FAMILY

TEXT: GENESIS 2:21-25

Key verse: Ephesians 5:31-For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

They are no more twain, but one flesh. They became one in the flesh. On this premise, resources in the hands of husband and wife should be seen as belonging to both and nothing should be hidden from each other.

Genesis 2:25-And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

None should be ashamed to tell the other of his or her financial downturn or hide any excess that comes in as a result of God's blessing. Your partner should know of your building projects and investments.

Some wives have lost the inheritance of their husbands to business partners because they were hidden from her. In the same manner, the wife should not embark on secret investments or take from the food allowance to start a secret project as some do.

Proverbs 6:16-19.

These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, an heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, a false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

Let your spouse know your disposable income since it will bring better understanding. Do not lie that you have not been paid after collecting your salary! It is a sin.

The dead does not hide its body from the mortuary attendant that will have to wash it up. Do not hide the challenges you are facing in your finances from your spouse, it will boomerang. If you have lost your job, come out plain to your wife.

There is no need for pride or carnality in family life. When your spouse is informed about your financial condition, there is willingness to sacrifice and provide support as necessary. But when you deal in lies and deceit, you break trust that is vital in sustaining relationship, and create suspicion and friction in relationship.

Relationship is built on trust; hence nothing must be done to tamper with that trust. Finally, husband and wife should not be conspirators in lying. Learn from the story of Ananias and Sapphira in Acts 6: 1-11

Thought for the day: A relationship built on Christ will never end up in mistrust.

TOPIC: EVANGELISM IS THE HEARTBEAT OF GOD

TEXT: MATHEW 28:19-20

Key verse: Daniel 12:3-And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament, and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars forever and ever.Soul winning is of utmost importance to God.

After the fall of man at the garden through Adam and Eve, He looked at the world and it repented Him that He created man (Genesis 6:6) So, He sought for what to do; to redeem man and save him from the dungeon of sin where he is perishing. So He sent His Son Jesus to save man from his predicament.

John 3:16-“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

So Jesus Christ gave His life to save man and reconcile man back to Himself. Therefore, He saved us to save others. He saved us and therefore commissioned us to reach out to others.

Proverb 11:30, ‘The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he that winneth soul is wise’.

This is the most essential part of our services to God; His heartbeat and heart-pain He desires that we bring others into the fold. Before Jesus ascended into Heaven, He commissioned the disciples and believers to go into the world and preach the gospel.

Luke 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Mathew 28:18-20.

And Jesus came and spake unto them saying, All power is given unto Me in heaven and earth. Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you, and lo, I Am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.

The above verses of the book of Mathew us understand what God wants us to do. This is why Jesus said that we must work (win souls) while it is day, for night cometh when no man can work. He also left us with the Holy Spirit to help us fulfill this mandate.

Acts 1:8-But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

There are many people languishing in sin. Arise child of God and be committed to the ministry of reconciliation because you cannot afford to meet Jesus empty-handed.

Thought for the day: There is much joy in heaven over one sinner that repents.

Song for the day: I must go with Jesus everywhere no matter the roughness of the road…

TOPIC: I AM WITH YOU IN YOUR WORK OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

TEXT: ISAIAH 41:9-14

Key verse: Joshua 1:9-Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

When God gave us the revelation of the Muslim in hell fire and asked that the truth be revealed to the Muslims alive on the earth, there was fear as normal humans how will it be with us after releasing this message to this violent set of people.

However, God says, I am with you in this work. I want to assure you children of God that God is with you in the work of righteousness. Do not be afraid. What does it mean that God is with you? We are going to understand it as we go on. Let us look at the component of our today’s text.

God says He took you from the corner of the earth or from your village which is the corner of the earth. What is the Lord saying? He says there were very great people there and neither were you one of them.

Nevertheless, the Lord came and picked you up. He did not take them. He took you from among the great people and said unto thee, you are my servant and qualifies you to be His servant. He called you to come and work for Him.

Can you see how the Lord chose Moses? He went to Midian, a corner of the earth and called Moses as a shepherd when there were chiefs in that area. He called him to be His servant. I has chosen thee. It was a choice

God made; so it was not a careless calling. There were sufficient options to be considered. Having weighed those options, the Lord arrived at you; that is why He has called you. Wonderful!

The thing happened to you as it happened to David. There were options. Jesse brought forth his children and never remembered David. Then it was a careful choice. See how careful that calling of David was; to the point that Samuel said, is there any son left? And Jesse said, yes, I have the youngest of them. He is in the forest.

Samuel said, I shall not sit down until he arrived here. It was a careful choice the Lord made to arrive at you. He has chosen you and said, I will not cast you away. Beloved, put your trust in Him and He will see you through. Fear thou not, for the Lord is with thee. Alleliua

TOPIC: LET YOUR CHARACTER PREACH THE GOSPEL

TEXT: ROMANS 2:21-22

Key verse: Matthew 7: 5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

God has saved you to live a holy life all the days of your life. There is a cloud of witnesses watching us. They judge us with all we do; from our interaction up to all our characters.

They expect us to live up to God’s standard. Many times, people have rejected Christianity because of the behaviour of others who profess the same Christianity.

Matthew 7:1-5

1. Judge not, that ye be not judged.

2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

Our scriptural text of today’s devotion asked us a very important question: You that preach the gospel saying thou shall not steal, do you steal? It is not enough to say it but to live it. You must live it for all to see. Saying it will not convince many but living it will.

1 Timothy 4:15-16

15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

Living the gospel is a means of preaching the gospel. It will profit you and all that hear and see you.Living the scriptures means living the gospel. You must first amend your ways before others can follow suit.

You cannot amend other people’s ways when yours is not amended. You can only give what you have. Do not live a life of a hypocrite as a Christian, you will lead many to hell and end up in hell yourself.

Do your best with the help of the Holy Spirit to live holy and God will use you to bring many to Himself. This is what God desires from you and me. Let's do it good faith
