ALLEGED CHILD RA**ST GETS JUNGLE JUSTICE
A man accused of ra**ng a 14-year-old girl and abducting a 2-year-old boy in Moneague, St Ann was chopped to death by residents.
36-year-old Orlando Coward carried out a two day reign of terror ra**ng the child on Thursday and breaking into a woman's home on Friday.
Coward who was armed with two guns entered the premises by smashing a window and held on to an 8-year-old girl.
Her mother fought him valiantly and saved her daughter but he grabbed her toddler instead and fled.
Community members launched a manhunt and found the 2-year-old alive.
He then returned to the same house and held several persons at gunpoint.
They managed to disarm him and chopped him to death. Two guns were retrieved from the scene.

A 16-year-old girl who was shot and killed this morning in Little London, Westmoreland recently confided in a friend that she felt her death was near.
This is seen in a cryptic message shared by her best friend on social media.
"Wa yuh wuda do if mi dead? Dawg mi jus feel like something ago happen to mi. A jus e feeling ute", she said.
This fear became a reality when Tara Dennis was allegedly shot and killed by her jealous ex after being accompanied home from her job by a male companion.
She died upon arrival at the Savannalamar hospital. The 38-year-old male has been admitted for treatment.

An alleged wife killer's hideout was discovered by St Ann residents after he went on the run after killing a woman he was engaged to.
Reports indicate that the woman's body was discovered in bed by her son on Friday morning. Her fiance was found in a huge well yesterday by residents that alerted the police.

TEEN FOUND HANGING FROM TREE IN ST MARY
A 19-year-old Bartender was found hanging from a tree near her home in Islington, St Mary on Tuesday January 2.
Reports indicate that this was the second su***de attempt of Tameika 'Nicky' Atherton. The first time she tried, she was discovered in the tree and cut down.
The police stated the Tameika told her family she was going outside to do laundry. When hours passed and she didn't return her body was discovered.
The police were alerted and her body removed to the morgue.
Speculations are circulating thar she was having financial and relationship problems.

HOPEWELL HIGH BURSAR KILLED AT SCHOOL GATE
The bursar at Hopewell High School was shot and killed outside the institution today in a spate of violent gun attacks.
Dead is 35-year-old Jermaine Roberts. Reports indicate that he was attacked by a lone gunman while leaving the compound at around 4:00 PM.

RECENT UNIVERSITY GRAD KILLED IN CRASH
A multi-vehicular crash along Mandela Highway early this morning left a recent university graduate dead.
She has been identified as 23-year-old Shadedra Williams.
Shadedra recently returned to the island following her academic success as she recently graduated from University of South Florida in the USA.
Reports indicate that the vehicle in which she was a passenger crashed into a parked truck and then into a motor car.
She suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at hospital.

The dancehall entertainer rose to fame after a video in which he was freestyling went viral in 2014.

A PARENT'S NIGHTMARE, BATTERED TEEN DESERVES JUSTICE
A distraught St Elizabeth family is seeking justice after their loved one was beaten unconscious at school for allegedly stepping on another student's shoes.
His life was possibly saved by the quick and valiant efforts of his schoolmates who carried him by foot to a doctor's office 500 metres away.
His family is waiting with bated breaths as scans will be done to see the extent of his injuries. They are demanding justice beyond the school level but by the law.
"I need justice. I could stay anywhere and here my son died at school. I need the school to deal with it...I need the law to deal with it. I need this to go to Ministry of Education," said his mother Shantel Goulbourne.
She went on to describe her son's current physical state.
"He is talking but the light is affecting his eyes so it has to be covered. His whole face is swollen. His eyes are shutting down. Black and blue and blood marks."
The incident has sparked public outrage across the island as vital questions are being asked regarding the safety of our children.
Where was the security guard to intervene especially from the first strike? Where were the teachers to drive him for medical care?

BROTHER KILLS SISTER IN FOOD DISPUTE
After stabbing one sister to death and injuring another during a heated dispute over food items, a St Andrew man is being sought by the St Andrew South police.
Reports indicate that around 7pm on Wednesday an argument developed among the three siblings when a knife was brought into play.
The brother allegedly stabbed both sisters multiple times. They were taken to hospital where one succumbed to her injuries and the other treated and released.
Dead is Kenisha Royal of New Barnett Road in Maverly, Kingston 20. The brother's identity is yet to be released by the authorities.

18-year-old Antwone Grey is being urged by the police to turn himself in. Alecia sustained burns to over 60% of her body.

PREDATOR PRIEST GRANTED BAIL AFTER SEXUALLY ASSAULTING 12-YEAR-OLD GIRL
A Kenyan Roman Catholic priest that allegedly assaulted a 12-year-old girl was granted bail on Wednesday in the St Catherine Parish court.
Lawrence Muvengi was granted $800,000 bail and ordered to surrender his travel documents. The clergyman was also barred from the parish except for his court days.
Reports are that last year March he abducted and assaulted the child on church premises but a report was not made until last month.
Muvengi is charged with sexual in*******se with a child under 16 years, sexual touching touching of a child, grievous sexual assault and abduction of a child under 16 years.

GUNMEN FLEE LEAVING GUN AFTER FAILED ROBBERY ATTEMPT
The swift action of a security guard at a gas station on Slipe Road led to a robbery attempt failing and had the culprits fleeing leaving a firearm behind.
Reports indicate that the men approached a pump attendant on a motorcycle pretending to be customers when a pillion pulled a firearm from his waistband.
He then demanded all her property and she pulled away and screamed. A security guard upon seeing the commotion challenged the gunmen by firing at them and the pillion fell from the bike. He made his escape on foot while the driver of the bike sped away.
The firearm was seized by the police and a manhunt has been launched for the criminals.

Three words: HOSPITAL...NO WATER...recipe for disaster. The lack of water in schools can be fixed with early dismissal but what happens in the case of a children's hospital? Scores of children admitted for varying illnesses need water for a sanitary environment to prevent further disease outbreaks. This concerned mother called for the attention of Health and Welness Minister Christopher Tufton stating that the Bustamante Hospital for Children was without water and no tanks were in place. When Nancy Newsgirl contacted the hospital we were told that the National Water Commission was on site doing restoration. "We now have water. Water commission was here working on the issue and every operation fully up and running now," stated one staff member. See video below.

What was particularly jarring is the fact that the teen pushed her away at least twice....she kept coming back. I've never seen a scenario in which a child 'hol it' more than the adult. Taking up a desk to hit a student is wrong no matter how you put it. But the full video is needed before judging the adult or student. Sad state of affairs. Kudos to the young men who stepped in and deescalated the ordeal.
