ONN seeks to Educate, Inform and Inspire

In 2002, the PUP Prime Minister of Belize Said Musa, and his administration gave the Commerce Bight Pier to a friend of his, Luke Espat, without consulting and getting the approval of the Garifuna citizens of Dangriga free of cost. After he took possession of the pier, he constructed a fence and a gate, employed a watchman, and deprived the Garifuna citizens of entering and using the facility. Since then, the Garifuna people are still deprived of using the pier, port, or any area in the vicinity.

Cooper succumbed at hospital on Sunday.
He was rushed to the corporate area medical facility after he collapsed while playing at a party at the Ranny Williams Entertainment complex in St Andrew.
Cooper is the son of founding Third World member and educator Ibo Cooper.
His passing has sent shockwaves throughout the industry.

The leaders arrived in Kingston this week and over the course of two days held a symposium and youth forum on Thursday and Friday, respectively.

The theme that marked the occasion was ‘Reparation and Royalty, Africa and Europe: Exploding Myths, Empowering Truths’.

There was a resounding call for history to be rewritten surrounding the transatlantic trade in Africans, particularly regarding the narrative that Africans and the European colonisers were allies or business partners.
