The Legendary Grammy Reggae Bass Guitarist , Song Writer & Producer Ranchie Bertram McLean on Bass Sly Dunbar on drums created the new "rockers" style that would change the whole Jamaican sound (from roots reggae to rockers, and be imitated in all other productions . He was a part of the 1975 house band of the Channel One Studios owned by Joseph Hoo Kim, The Revolutionaries ). Recording with The Clarendonians and Sadao Watanabe, and playing on the soundtrack to the film Club Paradise, in which he also had a small role.In the 1990s his output increased, working with Burning Spear, I-Roy, The Meditations.Parks, McLean, keyboardist Ansel Collins and drummer Sly Dunbar were the mainstay of the Skin, Flesh and Bones band .McLean played bass and guitar on many hits at Channel One including Woman Is Like A Shadow, Right Time by the Mighty Diamonds, Things And Time (the Wailing Souls), Ballistic Affair (Leroy Smart), Up Park Camp (John Holt) Have some Mercy and played on Marcia Griffiths songs among others. Ranchie Mclean wrote the Grammy Award winning song 'Rub A Dub Partner" sung by Jimmy Cliff and "Roots Woman".
