: The Caribbean's top team, Barbados , lost a hard-fought tie against hosts Colombia by 3 matches to 2, in their World Group-1 Playoff in Ibague.

The tie was locked at 1-1 entering today's final day, but the South Americans took the lead 2-1, after capturing the doubles rubber 7-6, 6-2, courtesy of Nicolas Barrientos and Cristian Rodriquez over Darian King and Stephen Slocombe.

King then created another stir in the 4th rubber, when he clipped the world #214 ranked Nicolas Mejia 6-3, 6-4, setting up a deciding rubber for the young Kaipo Marshall and Adria Soriano Barrera.

It would be the 345-ranked Barrera sealing the tie for the home side, as he proved to be too much for Marshall with a 6-2, 6-2 victory.

Unfortunately for the Bajans, the result means they have been relegated to the Group-2.

: Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, .oliviagrange has called on Jamaicans to go out and support all the events and activities planned to commemorate Reggae Month 2025 in February.

Speaking in the House of Representatives on Tuesday, January 28, Minister Grange noted that the recognition of this indigenous, Jamaican music form speaks to the value it holds both locally and internationally, therefore all efforts must be made to support the celebration of this national treasure.
