Anyone else watching the construction of the new Portal Bridge North while on the train from Newark Penn Station to Secaucus Junction? Post your photos and video!
Environmental groups demanded that the TransitGrid project be powered 100% by renewable energy. Experts said that wasn't feasible from either a cost or technical perspective and offered a hybrid solution (renewables + natural gas). Environmentalists said that wasn't good enough and killed the project. We cannot let perfection be the enemy of the good. Reliable energy is the foundation of our society.
So much of New Jersey's infrastructure was built in another age and needs to be upgraded to keep up with our modern lives. The Pulaski Skyway is an icon, and kudos to the men and women of IUOE Local 825 who've worked over the years to keep it up to date.
3 Reasons to Build a NEW Newark Bay Bridge
The best-trained operating engineers in the state (IUOE Local 825) are working on the new Portal North Bridge. You can see the progress on the NJ TRANSIT trains to/from New York.
When completed, the project will improve reliability and enable one seat rides to New York for thousands of commuters that currently have to change trains at Newark Penn Station and Secaucus Junction. #Train #Construction
Did you know that electric vehicles (EVs) don't pay for the maintenance of our roads, tunnels, and bridges? #TheMoreYouKnow
Who here "survived" the old Goethals Bridge? The new one is much better, with additional/wider lanes, a breakdown lane, and a bike/pedestrian path.
Invest in NJ's Water Infrastructure
Glad to see must-needed investment in modernizing our water infrastructure. Clean water for New Jersey and future generations.
NJ's getting much-needed funding from the federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
