The veil of darkness or the rain did not deter the outreach in this Cebu Barangay of around 4000 inhabitants. Tolotolo is situated in the northern part of Cebu, bordering Cebu Ciy to the west. There were 90 families who each received a bag of rice. We had also promised to bring slippers for the children and we delivered to their delight. LIFE BASKET celebrates this moment where PROMISES MADE were PROMISES kept. To God be the glory.

The Missionaries of Charity in Mabolo , Cebu City, Philippines care for the dying destitutes of the city. Living up to the legacy of their founder, St. Teresa of Calcutta, they dedicate their service to the poorest of the poor. We at LIFE BASKET are blessed to share in that mission of giving hope and dignity to the helpless poor and abandoned sick. As an early Christmas offering, they were provided rice and slippers for all the residents.

The inauguration and blessing of the chapel in this relocation site called Ganhaan sa Paknaan. A Mass was celebrated during which the many statues of saints and religious articles owned by different families were blessed as well. The children of the community offered their rendition of Christian songs complete with actions. This was followed by lunch for all the 300 or so families and then the distribution of the bags of rice. We thank the Office of Housing and Urban Development of Mandaue City for all the logistical help and most especially Atty. Jonbee Biton and Fatima Lapiña. Thank-you too to all those who assisted us behind the scenes.

Settlers of this Relocation site salvaged housing materials from their flooded homes and rebuilt in this parcel of land with the help of the local Housing and Urban Dev. Office. Each family was allowed a 30' x 30' plot for their house. There is more organization now but most especially, they are safer from the elements. They now have some amenities like electricity and water. Thank-you to Atty. Jonbee Biton, head of HUDO Mandaue as well as the local government for such a noble feat and thank-you from Life Basket for allowing us to be part of this journey.

Life Basket invited the Woodbridge Township pantry clients to a Christmas Lunch at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Main Street in Woodbridge. In the midst of rain and cold, our service team provided hot food to all who came. In the end, we still had trays of food left which our team delivered to Hope House in Jersey City.

An aerial view of a Relocation site for some 300 families who lived in mangroves. These families endured flooding exacerbated by recent weather changes brought about by climate change. Thanks to their new location,, they don't have to worry about this anymore.
