On this date 55 years ago, Brian Jones was found dead in his swimming pool. The coroner reported it as "Death by Misadventure" and noted that Jones's heart and liver were enlarged due to drug and alcohol abuse.
Jones, a founding member of The Rolling Stones, played sitar on some of the band's more psychedelic songs. He was 27.

Released 44 long years on this day in 1980 (& bizarrely scoring a number 1 commercial chart position in only) - Joy Division’s most revered single 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' with its profound lyrics inspired by lead singer Ian Curtis's marital problems and struggles with epilepsy years later becoming a globally lauded, referenced & much studied song.
