With Sur/Reality exhibition, Maison&Objet celebrates the artistic movement that, exactly 100 years after the Surrealist Manifesto, continues to inspire, provoke, and electrify creation in all its forms.

Disorientation, poetry, and dreamlike visions in the exhibition organized by Maison&Objets in Paris for the January 2025 edition, that promise to reigniting our curiosity and restoring our appetite for risk, for dreams, and for the unexpected.

« In the mid-1960s, a certain number of Italian artists, mainly from Turin, Genoa, Bologna, Milan, and Rome, gave rise to a body of work that is original, free-spirited, utterly unconventional, and non-dogmatic, one that expanded the domains of painting, sculpture, drawing, and photography, and which created the first ‘installations’ in art history, as well as performance works and actions. » says the curator Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev.

Until January 20, 2025, the , Pinault Collection will host a major exhibition devoted to Arte Povera. Between legacies and influences, the exhibition comprises more than 250 historic and contemporary works, as well as pieces that have taken their inspiration from this major Italian artistic movement of the 1960s.

Architecture has been the driving force behind Carlos Garaicoa’s poetics for the past thirty years, with ruins serving as an aggravating factor and leitmotif. This exhibition, however, brings together works that, if not exclusively, at least consistently, explore a concern for our place in the natural order. Lockdown during the pandemic afforded the artist an opportunity for introspection, leading to a renewed focus on drawing and works that incorporated more pronounced and frequent references to elements of nature. MANIFESTA Imaging futures.

‘A Century of European Architecture’ exhibition, in the Mataró Art Contemporani (M|A|C), departs from the question of the Catalan artist Domènec: Was the concentration camp the defining architectural type of the 20th century? A (by)product of modernity, the concentration camp is a fairly recent invention, emerging in the late 19th century. Throughout the 20th century, a terrific array of European political entities interned many diverse groups in concentration camps.

The Mataró Prison (Elies Rogent, 1863) is a construction of great relevance in the history of contemporary prison architecture because it constitutes the first example of the panoptic model in Spain.

We would like to remind everyone that today marks a sad anniversary: on September 9, 2013, a massive fire completely destroyed the Moria camp on the island of Le**os in Greece. Refugees were prevented from escaping, and the NGOs present on the island were blocked from providing assistance.

Opening ’s Ex-Designer Project Bar at Disseny Hub.

It is an exceptional project that turns a digitally designed interior, produced entirely using full-size 3D printing techniques into a standalone object, will be on display at the Disseny Hub Barcelona, under the curatorship of , head of collections at the Museu del Disseny - DHub, from 23 May to 25 August.

The project was born in November 2015, when Martí Guixé, one of Barcelona’s most internationally influential 21st century designers, set out to design and 3D-print, independently and without help, all the components of a bar on Barcelona’s C/ Entença in collaboration with architect Pau Badia.
