As part of the BASE, a multifunctional event location complex in Milan, Italy, the LA CAPSULA came into being in spring 2019. It is an innovative place for concert and web-based events, sound-related exhibitions and audio-multisource experiments.

Flanked by a small, slightly elevated control desk unit, this ‘lecture hall’, mainly characterized by generous glass panel installations, was created in close collaboration with GEZA ARCHITETTURA, Udine, Italy. The lighting design is based on the PHILIPS HUE system.

Newtopia ranks among Italy’s absolute top labels.

BOXY won the bidding with this new studio construction, for we were the only ones to ensure the finalization of a professional music studio within a pretty tight time schedule.

Three weeks planning, four weeks production, 18 days mounting: our customer could start the planned album production on time without having to renounce technical gadgets.

In search of a new conceptual approach, it was at BOXY where Warner Music eventually found what they had been looking for. It wasn’t only the module-based acoustic rooms that the customer decided to commission. He also had in mind a special interpretation from the architectural point of view.

The outcome presents itself as the successful experiment of a three partners cooperation: BOXY created the room structures. Dario Paini contributed the acoustic design planning. Architect Antonio Brizzi was responsible for the overall visual concept.

Seven radio studios are assigned to and connected with one another as a block. Two units were equipped with sight connections to the adjacent video streaming area.

After the station had already made positive experiences with four BOXY acoustic rooms in Rome, they also chose for the BOXY modular solution with realizing the new Milan studios.

Decisive factors were ex ante certification of acoustic performance values, the reliably short mounting duration and the certainty that every single room can easily be modified and relocated according to demand.

The interior acoustic design was realized in close collaboration with Dario Paini.

The live music venue Il Faro in Piombino, Italy, was at the brink of extinction due to noise nuisance problems. The life-saving solution: BOXY Silent Live. Stage acoustics are now efficiently shielded, while the sound is being transmitted to the audience via PA under monitored conditions.

In collaboration with Amadeus Acoustic Systems, BOXY implemented a 600 m³ room for events and master classes in the basement floor of the Royal Northern College of Music in 2016. The ventilation system of the room is designed for a capacity of up to 100 persons.

Pietro very consciously puts his trust in an acoustic ambience that is ‘more natural’ than commonly known from mastering studios. The acoustic room comes from BOXY. The architectural acoustics were created in close collaboration with Dario Paini.
