The Power of Great Conversations

Optimise Me Now was born in my mind long before it ever became a ‘thing’.

I discovered the ‘Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast, and had been binge listening to it whilst traveling across the UK on business... he made those sometimes long and arduous journeys bearable, transforming them into an opportunity for me to expanding my thinking in ways I had never thought possible.

I love the way he speaks his mind, creates open debate with so many high calibre guests, and walks his talk in the way he lives.

He said everyone should start a podcast (way before they were popular), and I believed him.

So, I started my own.

My theory was that if I could do it right, find some inspiring guests, and ask decent questions, I too could create a movement of information and conversation that could maybe, just maybe, help to inspire the next generation of thinkers, philosophers and leaders.

Optimise Me NOW! was born on 4th January 2018 following a cataclysmic collapse of everything I knew in my life.

I had stepped out into the unknown, and vowed to live by my values even if that meant turning my back on the life I had built.

I had been MD of my family’s business, an absent father, and obsessed with all the wrong things up until December 2017 when it all came to a head in an almighty explosion of emotion.

Truth is, I knew I was failing. I was failing my family, my dreams, and myself.

So I set about starting again.

I started my new business. I started this podcast. I started to be more present for my family and my kids.

I started to live the way I felt I needed to, and although it’s been a rough and rocky road at times I haven’t looked back.

I’ve won gold medals in martial arts championships, run a multi-million pound business, mentored scores of business owners all over the UK and shared some truly wonderful experiences with my family.

I’ve played in a rock bands touring the UK (and even a little bit of Europe).

I’ve loved and I’ve lost.

But the truth is my accolades mean nothing; all the value is in the man I had to become in the process of experiencing my successes and my failures.

And I’ve never felt more complete as a human being - as a man - than I do sat here writing this today.

THAT is what I want to share with you through this podcast... not just from my own perspective, but through the experiences and lessons learned by all the great and wonderful people I am honoured to welcome as my guests on the show.
