In our latest geopolitical report, Professor Evgeny Pashentsev from the Institute of Contemporary International Studies of the Дипломатическая Академия МИД России explored the results garnered from a targeted survey of twenty-five experts from twelve countries and the subsequent analysis of their feedback to bring to light the most serious threats to international information-psychological security (IPS) through malicious use of artificial intelligence (MUAI), determining how dangerous these threats are, which measures should be used to neutralise them and identifying the prospects for international cooperation in this area.

🇵🇰 Since Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) ended the ceasefire with the Pakistani Government, security has worsened in the country. Recent violent attacks in Pakistan and militants' seizure of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) compound in the Bannu district have also alarmed neighbouring countries and foreign investors who are worried about future Pakistani stability.

🇮🇷 🇷🇺 Iran and Dagestan have increased their trade exchange through the Makhachkala Commercial Sea Port, where the Kremlin has invested financial funds to transform this infrastructure into a logistic hub in the Caspian Sea, which might undermine the role of the close port of Baku in Azerbaijan.

The Dagestani port is part of the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC), which provides a route from Indian goods to Russian and European markets. On October 30th, 2022, over 60.000 people gathered in Stepanakert, in the self-proclaimed Republic of Artsakh. Protesters clamoured for the right to self-determination and appealed to the Yerevan government and the international community asking Artsakh not to be ceded under the control of Azerbaijan. The protesters who took to the streets in Stepanakert also appealed to Russia.

Last week during our official visit to Yerevan, SpecialEurasia met with Sergey Ghazaryan, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Artsakh in Armenia, with whom we discussed how recent regional geopolitical dynamics in the Caucasus had influenced the current situation in Nagorno-Karabakh.
