When Erminia Bretschneider passed away, her son Roberto took over the chairmanship of the board of directors. At the present time Mrs Elena Montani is the managing director.

“Singing the Middle Ages” delves into the historical and cultural significance of laude, spiritual songs in vernacular that were popular in medieval Italy. The book examines the origins and evolution of the lauda through various manuscripts, most notably the Laudario of Cortona. This collection is one of the earliest known examples of Italian poetry set to music, dating back to the late 13th century, and is revered for its profound cultural and religious impact. ⬇️

The study of the House ‘of the Ephebus’ adds another ‘jewel’ to the deeper understanding of Pompeii’s private buildings nearly a century after the excavation and after several decades of silence interrupted only sporadically by the analysis of individual finds by various scholars on different occasions and for different reasons. The book deals with the overall study and critical issues of the complex, from the point of view of its architecture, the furnishings found within it, the pictorial and stucco decorations, and the mosaic and sectile floor ‘carpets’ that adorned it, as well as the figure of its last owner, who was responsible for the final condition of the house.
