Jubilation In Maiduguri, As Borno State Government Demolishes Illegal Structures Harbouring Hoodlums, Illegal Sex Workers And Drug Peddlers.

Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State promised to do away with the crime hub after a popular outcry from the residents of Borno, at the 14th Ramadan lecture held by the Borno Radio Television Authority (BRTV).
A High powered committee chaired by Borno State Anthony General and Commissioner of Justice Hon. Kaka Shehu Lawan along side Commissioner for Land and Survey Borno State Hon. Sugun Mai Mele accompanied by they Directors, were in Galadima and Baga Motor park Areas and demolished the illegal structures after a substansive three days notice for the occupants to vacate the premises by the committee.
Galadima Area which is known for notoriously harbouring hoodlums and criminals and the baby producing factory (Pampas) that was sent parking some months back by the committee headed by the legal luminary Hon Lawan.
Speaking to news Men on the demolition, Chairman of the committee Barr Kaka Shehu Lawan, said that for those who are taking alcohol, the state has designated places for taking alcohol as this (Galadima) is not one of them. " He further added that, "this is a residential area, where people are supposed to stay peacefully with their families".
"One of the responsibility of this government is the welfare and security of citizens, which is lacking. And as a responsible and responsive government we're duty bound to protect the lives and property of our people and create an enabling environment for them to live and study their children in this neighborhood. The government is not only fighting only prostitution but criminality. As prostitution is just and element. Concluded the Attorney General.
