Nonostante oggi i due termini Street Punk e Oi! vengano usati in maniera intercambiabile, quasi fossero sinonimi, in realtà l'Oi! ha le sue caratteristiche: musica cruda e ripetitiva contornata da cori simili a quelli da stadio e testi con tematiche quali le risse, la birra, il tifo calcistico e la lotta politica ma sopratutto è il movimento musicale e culturale legato principalmente al culto skinhead.
È sufficiente la parola per far emergere nell'immaginario collettivo l'idea di ragazzi con teste rasate e braccio destro teso nel saluto nazista, ma non è sempre stato cosi. Anzi. Il movimento skin è nato sotto ben altre stelle, come vedremo questa sera dalle 21:05 alle 22:30 su Radio Tandem - FM 98.4 (Bolzano e Bassa Atesina) - streaming su radiotandem.it

Quella di stasera sarà la musica ascoltata dai ragazzi e dalle ragazze col nome street punks: così vengono definiti quei punk dei primi anni '80 che si rifanno alle origini del movimento punk '77 britannico, sia nel look, sia nell'attitudine, spesso e volentieri libera da ogni influenza politica e votata esclusivamente al disordine, chaos e ubriacarsi.
Anche le sonorità si rifanno al punk '77 in chiave più grezza e immediata. Le influenze metal sono decisamente minori rispetto all'hardcore e quindi risulta più orecchiabile.
