Frontline Rec Studio Recording, mixing and mastering abilities. Wide choice of old & new microphones and outboard gear.

In 2014 the recording studio project was founded by David "Sensi" with the writing of the first songs (on classic '70s jamaican instrumental rhythms) and overdubbing of them through the first microphones, audio interface, headphones and (only one) nearfield monitor. By the way , thanks to the teachings, tips of (and collaborations with) many friends involved in various musical genres and technical

experiences (would like to remember the great Natty P), know-how and setup were constantly improved, and in 2016 the first dub-plates were tested on the Peaceful Warriors Sound System in session. Since 2016 we accept bookings for recording sessions and since 2017 also for mixing sessions (studio rent) as an external mixing engineer. Since 2020 there's a way to record your big, old instruments without moving them: a portable HQ setup will suite all those recording needs. The studio actually offers 44 channels of pristine AD/DA conversion patchable to a vast variety of pro and broadcast hardware processors, either through our british modular console or directly from the converters. Recording is achieved through an accurate selection of vintage and modern microphones and preamplifiers. Monitoring was addressed with long listening tests to a transparent 3 way system that suits all our needs. Nel 2014 David "Sensi" fondò il progetto dello studio di registrazione con la scrittura delle prime canzoni (su classiche basi strumentali jamaicane degli anni '80) e l' incisione di queste attraverso i primi microfoni, scheda audio, cuffie e (un solo) altoparlante monitor. Lungo il tragitto, grazie agli insegnamenti, consigli di (e collaborazioni con) molti amici coinvolti in vari generi musicali ed esperienze tecniche (vorrei ricordare il caro Natty P) , la conoscenza teorico/pratica ed il parco macchine sono stati costantemente implementati, e nel 2016 i primi dub-plates vennero suonati sul Peaceful Warriors Sound System in serata. Dal 2016 accettiamo prenotazioni per sessioni di registrazione e dal 2017 anche sessioni di missaggio (affitto studio) per ingegneri esterni. Dal 2020 offriamo un' opzione per registrare, a domicilio, i vostri vecchi e grossi strumenti d'epoca senza bisogno di spostarli: un setup portatile e di alta qualità adempirà a tutti questi compiti di registrazione. Lo studio attualmente offre 44 canali di limpida conversione AD/DA interfacciabili ad una vasta varietà di processori hardware professionali e da broadcast, attraverso il banco modulare di fabbricazione inglese o direttamente dai convertitori (tramite patch-bays). Le riprese vengono effettuate tramite una accurata selezione di microfoni e preamplificatori moderni e d'epoca. Il monitoraggio è stato indirizzato da lunghe sessioni di ascolto ad un sistema a 3 vie trasparente che risponde egregiamente a tutte le nostre necessità.

Studio story

Records collector since young age, after a few years(since 2011) spinning vinyls in his hometown as a selector David “Sensi” Borchardt moved to Bologna in 2013, where the studio project started with the writing of his first songs and recording of them through the first audio interface, microphones and closed headphones. By the way thanks to collaborations with various artists and the teachings and tips by many friends, involved in various musical genres and technical experiences(would like to remember the great Natty P), setup and know-how improved constantly and since 2016 Dubplates were tested on the Peaceful Warriors Sound System in session. “Working hard” is the motto; many tunes have been conceived and lots of work has to be done on them by the Frontline all-stars. Frontline Rec Studio has the purpose to enable gifted musicians to record and build their sounds and let music grow on. Heartical thanks to all of you for the support !
