K is now THRIVING in life!!!❤️❤️❤️

ALL today was 🤯🤯🤯🤯

Today K had an annual IEP review. He’s not up for a full reassessment until 2025.

Past highlights 3rd grade to now:
1) eloped off of school property and shutdown a major road for 45 min. Law enforcement had to be called in to help contain him to one area and ultimately apprehend him in a very very kind way.
2) suspended from school every other day or so.
3) destroys classroom often
4) classroom evacuated multiple times for everyone’s safety
5) eloped many times from the classroom but stayed on the school campus
6) rode in a cop car to the ER after one of his nuclear meltdowns
7) I personally bear hugged K for his safety for almost 2 hours and then we both had a cop car to the ER
8)Finally expelled completely from public school
9) did over a year in a specialized school that was capable of taking care of K
10) 2 week in patient stay in a children’s ward
11) self harm was often
12) said he didn't want to be here anymore
And the list goes on…

The highlights 6th grade:
1) coming off of OT support 👍🏽
2) coming off of Social Work support 👍🏽
3) now at grade level or high average for all subjects 👍🏽
4) all teachers say he is polite and interacts well with adults. still working on this with peers but no major concerns from the faculty 👍🏽
5) he’s now more interactive in all classes 👍🏽
6) he’s still struggling to complete assignments on time. Working on that
7) BIG plus K’s doctor is now pushing to decrease his prescription medication!!👍🏽👍🏽

At one point I thought there was no hope and I felt so worthless that I couldn’t help K…
With hard work, love, and pure determination to help K…

Is everything perfect, nope not at all.
NOW, all I have is high hope for K!! Seeing is believing. Watching K, come from where he was before to THRIVING now is proof love and hard work will conquer the dark!!!

You may be asking what has changed from before to now. I already explained it was love, hard work, pure determination, also throw in sacrifices, long exhausting days, many frustrated public outings, not being scared to go out in public, trying to do “normal” kid/family things…

We also had a secret weapon… a holistic protocol that K took while still on his 8+ prescription medication. The prescription medication changed very often because of one reason or another. The one thing that I kept consistent was his daily protocol…

Now here we are with K❤️❤️❤️

The passing of Stephen Boss to su***de is 💔

He leaves behind his family 💔

His gift and purpose in the world is gone💔

I read a story that just days before Stephen was dancing in his new multi million dollar home. I highlight this because even with his success he was fighting demons. Which brings to light NO ONE and I mean no one is exempt.

I’m no stranger to fighting demons. As a Veteran I have, still am and will continue to fight demons. We lose 22+ Vetrans a day to these demons.

No matter your walk in life there are so many options to get help. The problem is many of us do not choose to. I myself for a very long time chose not to even with knowing what I know about the options to get help. I’ve been in that dark place and on the ledge of the wrong end of the stick so to speak. So I get it…

That all changed one day. I realized I needed to do more, not for me but for the ones I loved. That’s when I took matters into my own hands. I found something that has been a game changer for my family and ultimately saved me. No, my life is not easier or unicorns and rainbows. Life is life BUT what I have put into place truly helps me get through my day to day life struggles. I would love to share my story with you.

If you find yourself in a dark place. You are not alone nor are you the first ever to go through through it. You just need to reach out. I did and it has been truly life changing for me and the ones I loved.

I’m here for any of you. I pray for each of you to find peace. I pray for your families. If you need to talk I’m always here for you. Together we can find a way…

All, the time is now to do something. It’s amazing to see people talk about it but it’s also time to do the walk. We are stronger together. Losing anyone to su***de is so 💔 and it’s one too many.

Today is supposed to be a celebration but there is another side to all of the festivities.

Sadly many of my Brothers and Sisters in Arms are not celebrating and instead are fighting in the darkest times of their lives. many of them will not want to join the rest of us in today’s events meant for them.

I can only imagine what they are battling inside of them. I can say I have had my own battles inside of me and know first hand how it can destroy you.

If you’re a Battle Buddy reach out to all your Battles! If you have come out of the darkness share how you did it!! We NEVER leave anyone behind!!

Remember you are WARRIORS!! I rather carry your ruck sack than carry you in a wooden box!!

Last night we heard from my buddy Bryan Akers a dad, husband and teacher. He talked about his son with high functioning Autism and what he and his family does now to help his son THRIVE in life!!💜

This family now has HOPE!!

Bryan:
“We were initially looking for more natural solutions for my son's Autism. He has high functioning autism, which means that he sometimes struggles with social interactions, he has sensory issues at times (loud noises), and when he gets overwhelmed he used to have these big outbursts.
