🖤 One of Kyomarth Pour Ahmed's relatives stated that the cause of death was su***de in his villa in Bandar Anzali. / Pour Ahmad made long-lasting TV series "Qasehai Majid" and "Sarnakh".
Kyomarth Pourahmad passed away at the age of 74.

According to the artist's residence, it was announced that the exact details are not available, but this news is apparently true that the director of Iranian cinema, Kyomarth Pourahmad, passed away on Wednesday, 16th of Farudin.

Our reporter contacted a relative of this director to inquire about the cause of death. Kyomarth Pourahmad, who was living in Bandar Anzali and Villaish in this city, ended his life last night with his own death.

I am a good student for cinema. All my efforts in the last two years and reviewing documentary cinema have been experimental. My interest in experimental cinema made me pay attention to experimental films.
After reviewing and examining this important cinema, I came to the belief that all experimental filmmakers, along with attracting audiences and all over the world, should focus on experimental cinema, creators' experience, competition...
with the restrictions that exist in Iran. Iran's independent cinema receives high ratings in important international film festivals and awards.
I am also trying to create a suitable platform for short and long film makers for my experiment so that we can have knowledge and science with different behaviors.

🔸Sinai's work was influenced by documentaries and focused on social and artistic subjects. "Bride of Fire" is among his best known movies, and has won multiple awards in both domestic and international film festivals. He was the first Iranian film director to win an international prize after the 1979 revolution and has been awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland.

🔸Anger is a Liquid' deals with the connection between gender and emotion. In three chapters, the suppression of and one's own handling of anger in female socialized bodies is thematized and examined from historical, sociological and psychological perspectives: In 'Medusa's monologue', the mythical figure of Medusa recounts her true fate in a monologue addressed to her rage, acting as a matriarchal tutelary goddess who continually pours oil on the fire and thus maintains women's rage as a genuinely 'feminine virtue'. In 'Vectors', two young women perform an exercise adopted from anti-aggression training that is meant to make the physical affects of rage tangible. The Medusa head is now merely a simulacrum on their fake brand clothing. The final chapter – 'Anger is like liquid' – is a reflection on linguistic metaphors of anger and culminates in a thesis on angry speech. Anger, as a liquid, passes through different stations and takes on different manifestations, ignites fires, overflows: Female anger – insofar as it is justified – can be a powerful tool for not remaining in a passive victim role, but for taking responsibility and experiencing selfefficacy, especially when women join forces. For even if history books like to keep quiet about it, the driving force behind revolutions was often angry women.

Traveling to Iran provides a wonderful opportunity to personally experience the country’s extraordinary history and rich culture without the distorting lens of political rhetoric. Although Iran is often portrayed as an unstable, inhospitable, cold, and an implacable foe that is hostile to Westerners, these misconceptions about Iran do not reflect the reality of tourist experiences in this warm and welcoming country. Although we addressed some of these issues in our first Myth v. Fact on tourism in Iran in 2016, tensions with Iran have risen in recent years, and so we hope this updated piece will shed light on the current status of tourism in Iran, upend some misconceptions about safety concerns, and provide clarity for potential tourists regarding risks of travel.

🔸Golab Dare” is the name of a valley and a neighborhood on the side of that valley, which are called by the same name. This valley is adjacent to Imamzadeh Qasim from the western side (west side) and Darband valley from the eastern side.

This valley is one of the pleasant summers in the northeast of Tehran city.

Apart from the local residents, the Gulab Dere mountain trail hosts hikers every week who choose its dirt road and solitude. In the summer of 1366, a destructive flood came from Deh Gulab Dareh and destroyed many houses in Darband and killed many people.
The local residents of this area still speak the Tati language.

🔥 Takht-e Jamshīd, lit. 'Throne of Jamshid') was the ceremonial capital of the Achaemenid Empire. It is situated in the plains of Marvdasht, encircled by southern Zagros mountains of Iran. Modern day Shiraz is situated 60 kilometres (37 mi) southwest of the ruins of Persepolis. The earliest remains of Persepolis date back to 515 BC. It exemplifies the Achaemenid style of architecture. UNESCO declared the ruins of Persepolis a World Heritage Site in 1979.

The complex is raised high on a walled platform, with five "palaces" or halls of varying size, and grand entrances. The function of Persepolis remains quite unclear. It was not one of the largest cities in Persia, let alone the rest of the empire, but appears to have been a grand ceremonial complex that was only occupied seasonally; it is still not entirely clear where the king's private quarters actually were. Until recent challenges, most archaeologists held that it was especially used for celebrating Nowruz, the Persian New Year, held at the spring equinox, and still an important annual festivity in modern Iran. The Iranian nobility and the tributary parts of the empire came to present gifts to the king, as represented in the stairway reliefs. 🇮🇷

nderson Matthew is an artist and filmmaker living and working in Los Angeles. His work centers around multiplicity of perspectives and q***r experience. He is the writer and director of the upcoming feature film Baja Come Down and creator of Deviant Proposals: An Anti-Binary Journal published by Candor Arts. The Last Martial Arts

The Last Martial Arts is a experimental film combining puppetry and moving collage assembled from art books and reconfigured actuality footage shot by the filmmaker himself. It also features original music by the American pop group, Fascist Bastards.

The film is a portrayal of social isolation in a context of nationalist flag waving and militarism, but it also celebrates the affective possibilities of art.
Hing Tsang is a filmmaker and teacher based in Ipswich, working at the University of Suffolk. He was trained as a documentarist and is also the author of “Semiotics and Documentary Film” alongside numerous articles about documentary, fiction and experimental practice. He has collaborated recently with Jose Navarro, an Anglo-Peruvian mime and puppetry artist, whose work has been seen by audiences across Asia, Latin America and Europe. Hing Tsang’s work incorporates elements of experimental and documentary filmmaking and has been shown at festivals in Europe and the Americas.

Director Biography - FRANK TERNIER
rank TERNIER is a French director, editor and graphic designer. He is a self-taught person, curious and instinctive.
His numerous meetings and collaborations in various artistic fields and universes, from contemporary theater to urban and classical dances, to the world of amplified music, make him a mixed media artist.
The story begins in Tours in 1999 with the creation of the association l’Astronef which aims to promote image education. Frank meets other directors, technicians, actors with whom he regularly works.

The Imaginary Kaleidoscope

“The Imaginary Kaleidoscope” is a series of close-ups of animal sculptures, small and large. The close-ups, which excise context from the frame, suggests portraiture. We encounter these animals at eye level and observe them looking at us. Even without context, lawn sculptures are recognizably mass-produced and made of inexpensive yet robust material intended to endure outside. The male voiceover reads a monologue quilted with quotations from the western canon in which the author ventriloquizes an animal voice (i.e. Kafka, Rilke, Bishop, Tolstoy). The video offers a meditation on voyeurism and the performative quality of public-facing private displays, and on the desire to reintegrate animals into our life. The yard art animal sculptures are dinky monuments to that desire for reintegration. I gathered the footage in small towns across the Northeast, Midwest, and the South suggesting a collective place-less portrait of Americana.
Masha Vlasova is a video artist and educator. Her guiding methodologies are close reading, rehearsal, and translation. Her works have been exhibited and screened at Smack Mellon, Anthology Archives, Abrons Arts Center, the Border Project Gallery in New York City, Vox Populi in Philadelphia, ICDOCS 2020 in Iowa City, San Diego Underground Film Festival in California, LLAWN Festival in Llandudno, Wales, Leeds College, UK, and Carpenter Center for the Visual Arts at Harvard University. She has been a recipient of the Alice Kimball Fellowship, the JUNCTURE Art and Human Rights Fellowship, Research Fellowship at the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Yale University, and Fulbright Fellowship in Filmmaking. She’s an Assistant Professor of Art at Wofford College in South Carolina.
