Bafel Jalal Talabani meets US ambassador to Iraq

Bafel Jalal Talabani received on Monday the US ambassador to Iraq, Matthew Tueller, at Mam Jalal house in Baghdad.

The meeting discussed Iraq's political process in general, the Kurdistan Region, and the progress that has been made to form a new Iraqi government, as well as discussions between the parties to address the political deadlock.

The meeting also emphasized the use of understanding and resorting to dialogue as a solution to finding a mechanism for reaching agreement and understanding in the interest of the public.

Bafel Jalal Talabani reiterated the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK)'s enthusiasm for reaching an agreement on overcoming political obstacles and forming an efficient and service government that will meet the current needs and aspirations of the people and all parties and that bring political, economic, and security stability in the country.

Turkey arrests 12 Kurdish civilians in Erbil

On Friday, the army arrested 12 citizens in the Bradost area of the Erbil governorate.

Dang English reporter stated that this morning, the people of several villages in the Bradost region went to the hills and mountains, with the aim of harvesting spring herbs, explaining that 20 members of the Turkish army had arrested 12 of them.

The fate of the detainees is still unknown, and according to eyewitnesses, they were beaten and belittled and are from the villages of "Dila, Malmaluk, and Maidan."

Iraqi Oil Minister determines steps to settle dispute with the KRG

Iraq's Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul Jabar determined 3 steps to resolve the dispute with Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) on the oil file.

"Solving the problem with Kurdistan Region is to review contracts, establishing Kurdistan Company, and federalism in oil development," said Minister Ihsan Abdul Jabbar.

Last week a delegation from the KRG went to Baghdad for the first round of talks regarding the Kurdistan Region’s oil and energy sector.

The visit came weeks after the Iraqi top court ruled the Kurdish oil and gas law to be unconstitutional.

KRG released a statement in which it responded to the federal court's decision, saying that the Kurdistan Region affirms its commitment to the constitution.

it is clear to Everyone that Iraq is currently in a difficult political situation with the lack of national dialogue for solving problems and finding ways to overcome the obstacles, it shows the truth that more than any time we need to follow a wise policy of the President Mam Jalal for success Political process in Iraq and deepen the spirit of harmony and coexistence.

The latest events in Iraq and Kurdistan are more evidence showing the gap that President Mam Jalal created can not easily be filled and the only way to overcome the problems is to return to the wise policy of President Mam Jalal.

On Wednesday, , Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, visits Greece to participate in Delphi Economic Forum.

On the matter, Samir Hawrami, the official spokesperson for the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, said "the aim of the trip is to participate in the 7th edition of the Delphi Economic Forum in Greece."

The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan ( ) bloc in the Kurdistan confirmed that PUK supports holding the elections on time but wants to amend the election law and revise the voter register before the elections.

Ziyad Jabbar, head of the PUK bloc, said in a press conference that all parliamentary blocs support the need for consensus on files that have national dimensions, stressing that the election law was issued 30 years ago and may not serve the current stage. "We must amend this law, which contains significant shortcomings that must be addressed," he added.

"The blocs of PUK, the Islamic Union, the New Generation, the Justice Group, and the Gorran Movement support amending the election law, so why this unilateral insistence on not amending this law?"

Jabbar explained that PUK prepared and submitted a project to amend the election law and was waiting for the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) to be flexible to amend the law but so far, KDP has refused to amend the law.

On Tuesday, the Security Media Cell announced the arrest of 5 terrorists and a drug dealer and the seizure of five explosive belts in Nineveh and Anbar.

The Security Media Cell stated that specific and proactive operations carried out resulted in the arrest of five terrorists in the Anbar and Nineveh provinces, who are wanted by the judiciary.

PUK MP: KDP is ready to stand against the national unity for its interests

Shirin Yunis, a member of the Kurdistan Parliament, confirmed that the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and several other blocs submitted a draft law to the parliament's presidency to amend the election law in the Kurdistan Region.

Shirin Yunis said in a press statement that PUK is supporting the amendment of the election law in a short period, and the Kurdistan parliamentary election must be held on its scheduled date.

She continued that amending the election law requires concessions from all parties and political forces, pointing out that Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) is the only one that stands against the draft law.
