The anti-terror forces, including Yekîneyên Antî Teror, or , have been conducting anti-ISIS operations in Camp, located in in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria. During the latest series of raids on this well known refugee camp, which have lasted over a week, the led Democratic Forces have found small arms, including many Rifles, , other components for ’s, along with various other weaponry all hidden within the camp. The Al-Hawl camp has long hosted both people displaced by , people sympathetic to ISIS, along with many suspected members of ISIS, often known as . The inside of Al-Hawl camp has been said to be used for indoctrination and recruitment by members of cells that operate within the refugee camp, with the Syrian Observatory of Human Rights going so far as to call it the “al-Hawl mini-state”. This is often why highly trained anti-terror forces are necessary when they search the camp for weapons. The al-Hawl camp alone holds approximately 50,000 people, and many have been killed by members of but repatriation of many of those who are from outside that are in the camp has been extremely difficult, especially as many countries fear that their citizens held in the camp will radicalise people on their own soil if repatriated due to the radicalisation found within the camp itself. Given the recent attacks by on the infrastructure of the , and the evidence that ISIS Cells are still very active within al-Hawl Camp, it will likely becoming increasingly important for the international community to figure out a way to both repatriate their citizens, and put the known members of ISIS, that are held in al-Hawl and other camps on trial.
