Samrok Playground witnessed a splendid celebration on the occasion of the 75th Republic Day, organized by the dedicated committee. SKM Party's Organisational cm Public Meeting: 15 Rangang Yangang Constituency

Under the guidance of Hon'ble Party President Shri PS Golay, the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha Party held a Constituency Level Organisational cm Public meeting today at Yangang Bazar to fortify the Party's presence in the Constituency. The gathering saw massive participation from the 15 Rangang Yangang constituency, saw strong support for SKM's victory with a highest majority in the upcoming elections.

Shri Jacob Khaling, in his address, cautioned the SDF party against spreading false propaganda emphasizing the need to avoid falling for hidden agendas. Shri Pavitra Manav highlighted the government's efforts in improving rural economy through incentives in milk production and agricultural services, praising the leader's commitment to the healthcare of Sikkimese people.

Shri RK Basnet outlined various developments in the constituency, acknowledging the SKM government's developments of over 100 crores in just five years.

Shri Navraj Gurung discussed the corruption in SDF-led power projects, citing the disaster of October 4th, 2023, due to substandard construction.

Smt. Babita S***a discussed how the SKM government has brought justice to Sikkimese women through schemes like Aama, Bahini Yojana, and improved facilities in contractual works.

The Chief Guest, Hon'ble Minister Shri Sanjeet Kharel, summarized upcoming social and welfare schemes by the SKM Government, expressing confidence that all eight constituencies in the South District will favor SKM in the 2024 general elections. He reassured that false rumors would not sway the people's support for SKM, emphasizing the unwavering unity under the leadership of Shri P.S. Golay.

Today, a dedicated team from the Sikkim Cricket Association, under the leadership of President Shri Tika S***a, conducted a comprehensive inspection of a 7-acre of land at L/Gagyong. The land, dormant for many years, is earmarked for the construction of Cricket Stadium in the state.

The inspection, aimed at assessing the feasibility and readiness of the site, yielded positive responses from the team. President Shri Tika S***a expressed optimism about the potential transformation of the land into a thriving cricket facility that could become a hub for the sport in the region.

Accompanying Shri Tika S***a during the inspection were key figures such as Shri RK Basnet, Shri Phurba Wangdi Bhutia (Managing Director, State Bank of Sikkim), Smt Prem Doma Tamang (Zilla Panchayat), Shri DR Gurung (Panchayat President), Shri Anil Gurung (Youth Convenor), Shri CL Gurung, Shri Avinash Yakkha, Shri Yurba Limboo, Shri Roshan Chettri, and members of the general public.

The long-standing aspiration for a Cricket Stadium in this region is now one step closer to realization, with the positive response from the inspection team adding momentum to the project. The Sikkim Cricket Association and the local community eagerly anticipate the development of this infrastructure, which is poised to elevate the stature of cricket in Sikkim.

SDF’s FIR against Minister Lama nothing but a charade

SDF was born of violence. Sikkimese people who were old enough in 1994 still recount the gory details of SDF's brutality when it launched its campaign to stop Nar Bahadur Bhandari’s Sikkim Sangram Parisad Party. SDF clandestinely instigated the Sikkimese people against the Chettri-Bahun community by calling the 1994 election a fight between “Chuchay Naak” and “Thepchay Naak”. Pawan Chamling displayed no compunction in sowing the seeds of communal discord just to ride to power. Sikkim’s fabric of communal harmony was torn asunder and a wedge was driven between the Sikkimese communities just to fulfil one man’s political ambition. Sikkim is still paying the price.

Successive elections in Sikkim after the SDF party came to power witnessed widespread violence. Many still recount the horror of SDF goons cutting off the udders of the cows to fan communal disharmony, many opposition leaders vanished, some fled Sikkim for good while some were murdered in broad daylight. Sikkim’s election did witness relative peace in 2004 and 2009 because late Nar Bahadur Bhandari was a spent force by then and SDF faced no serious opposition and hence violence was not required. SDF particularly harps on this relative peace which was only because SDF faced no serious opposition that could pose a real challenge to its re-election bid. However, when P.S. Golay rebelled against SDF owing to increasing signs of dictatorship in Pawan Chamling’s style of governance, SDF was rattled to the core. When massive gatherings started supporting P.S. Golay, and when SKM posed a real threat to Pawan Chamling’s re-election bid in 2014, SDF resorted once again to violence. Arun Rai and N.K. Gurung lost their lives in 2014. Suffice it to mention that N.K. Gurung’s entire family joined SKM in 2014 when they came to know about who was responsible for his death.

P.S. Golay has always maintained that under no circumstance will SKM resort to violence but at the same, SKM has the capacity and will pay back in equal measure any violence against SKM supporters. Before the 2019 election, our leader P.S. Golay has gone on record stressing that SKM will not indulge in violence and the onus was on the SDF party to maintain peace. The SKM party has only stressed about our right to defend ourselves. That was precisely what Minister Lama underlined in his address at Rolu Diwas. He stressed that SKM will never attack anyone but if any opposition party indulges in violence against SKM, we will pay them back in equal measure. Now, how does that amount to threatening opposition parties, chiefly, SDF is ridiculous.

Pawan Chamling, when he was Chief Minister, openly incited SDF supporters to beat up SKM supporters at his speech at Ravangla in 2019. His now infamous “Teen Lakh Yuva Haruko Chha Lakh Haat” has reached every mobile phone in Sikkim. At a public programme at Geyzing, then Chief Minister Pawan Chamling openly threatened that SDF supporters would beat up and hospitalise over one thousand SKM supporters. In a recent meeting, SDF’s Senior Vice President M.N. Dahal has openly threatened to beat up anyone that doesn’t subscribe to their “Chamling Bachau Abhiya”. We have video proof of all these. It is laughable that the party whose leader as Chief Minister publicly incited his supporters to beat up the supporters of SKM, the party whose senior vice president has openly threatened to attack those refusing to subscribe to their “Chamling Bachau Abhiyan” finds no shame in organising the charade of lodging an FIR against Minister Lama for merely stressing that the SKM party will pay back in equal measure any violence unleashed against the SKM supporters. Gone are the days when SDF could freely unleash violence against SKM and other opposition parties and could get away with it. The SDF party has not been able to come to terms with this unsavoury truth. SDF has lost its wits upon seeing the sea of over one lakh people that gathered to witness the historic 15th Rolu Diwas and is now desperately trying to peddle propaganda. This FIR from the party that is synonymous with violence is nothing but a loud indication of their desperation.
