Just in: The Melli police have arrested six people in connection with the assault case involving KN Rai, according to the latest information from the police.

Melli police caught four people for attacking KN Rai. They're looking for three more. Three were caught in Kubindey Forest, and one near Melli Gumpa. The police will reveal their names today. The charges include trying to kill (Section 307), stopping wrongly (Section 341), hurting badly (Section 324), causing damage (Section 427), and acting together (Section 34). Three people are still not caught. Rai was attacked during the day in Melli last Friday.

Former Speaker KN Rai and senior SDF leader, along with party spokesperson Dr. Shiva Kumar Timsina, were assaulted by SKM party members at Majhigaon, Melli, around 2:30 p.m today, as per an SDF press release. The attack has been condemned by the SDF, demanding the immediate arrest of the assailants. The SDF press release asserts that this incident underscores the absence of democracy in Sikkim and the complete breakdown of the rule of law.

He remains a prominent figure in the world of Indian music, particularly in the ghazal genre.

Bhakta Raj Acharya, also known as Bhajan Shiromani, was a famous Nepali singer and composer born on October 2, 1942, in Dhankuta, Nepal. He grew up in Kalimpong, India, and later moved to Nepal in the 1970s along with other singers from Darjeeling. Acharya started his musical journey in 1973 by winning a gold medal in an All Nepal Song Competition organized by Radio Nepal. He recorded about 450 songs and composed around 25–30 pieces during his career, which lasted until 1986. He received awards like the Swami Narayanacharya Shruti Samman in 2010 and the Padma Shree Sadhana Samman in 2020. Acharya's sons, Satya Raj Acharya and Swaroop Raj Acharya, known as Satya-Swaroop, are also accomplished singers. He passed away on February 26, 2024, leaving behind a remarkable musical legacy.

Minu Lepcha went to Nar Bahadur Bhandari Degree College. He started a small restaurant in Lower Samdong. His name, "Minu," means "fire" in his language. At first, he wanted a government job but couldn't get one. So, he started his own business. He serves tasty food like momos and chowmein to tourists. Some families get many jobs through OFOJ, but Minu couldn't get even one. Still, he runs his shop with a lot of love and hard work. Let's support him and his inspiring story! ❤️
