**Residents of Soki Dhani Demand Adequate Compensation After Shelling Damages**
*Soki Dhani, Uri –* Several families in the Soki Dhani area of Uri have raised serious concerns over inadequate compensation provided by the administration after their homes were completely damaged during recent shelling from across the border.
Among the affected residents are Ab Latif Qureshi, Shabir Ahmed Qureshi (son of Ab Latif Qureshi), Tasadiq Hussain (son of Hassan Shah), Farooq Hussain, and Tasveer Hussain (both sons of Mir Haider Shah). All of them belong to the Soki Dhani locality, where intense shelling has left multiple houses fully damaged and residents displaced.
The victims allege that despite the magnitude of destruction, they were given only ₹6,000 and ₹1,30,000 respectively by the local administration — an amount they say is grossly insufficient to rebuild their lives and homes.
"We have lost everything — our houses are gone. How can we rebuild with such a small amount?" said one of the residents.
The affected families are now appealing to higher authorities for fair and adequate compensation to help them recover from the devastation.
