Can you believe 49.73% of the year is already gone?
Here's what I've achieved and the hurdles I've faced.

Things that went well:
- Really got into the nitty-gritty of SEO and feel like I've still got a lot to pick.
- Developed a few internal tools and advanced models.
- Trained close to 423 odd folks on weekends.
- Had one-on-one chats with 89 incredible folks. 🚀

Challenges I faced:
- Fell behind on my LinkedIn engagement.
- Had to push back the launch of two mini-products.
- Struggled to keep up with consistent learning.
- Paused my weekly newsletters and stopped creating explainer videos. 😅

For the rest of the year, I’m focusing on getting back on track and working on my plans for the next two quarters.
_________

How about you?
How’s your first half of the year going?

3 simple habits that helped me 10x my performance:
(you can start any of these right now)

1. I take advantage of my peak hours
- Deep work & deep focus between 11am and 1pm. Less meetings.
- Peak energy and concentration.
- I then do low-energy tasks in the 2nd half.

2. I write notes throughout the day
- I usually have a mind map where I write everything I work on.
- It mentally helps me feel satisfied with all the work I have done.
- My performance and productivity are 10x better.

3. I use the ‘2 minute rule’
- If an action takes less than two minutes to complete, do it immediately.
- Prevents procrastination and saves mental energy.
- Send the email, respond to the slack. Don’t let it pile up.

- Build together (keep people excited by telling them what you’re doing as you work)

Embracing Change: My Story of Switching Sectors from EdTech to B2B InsurTech 🔄💡

6 months ago I left a promising role at an edtech startup with the dream of diving into the B2B insuretech world.

I was working with passionate marketers and tech enthusiasts.

Our platform was growing, and we were making a difference in the lives of students.

But deep down, I felt a pull towards the B2B space.

I wanted to join a B2B startup that is transforming a particular industry using technology.

However, making the switch wasn't easy.

The edtech and insurtech worlds are miles apart.

I had to start from scratch, learn new things, get out of my comfort zone and understand the unique needs my work demanded.

But I was determined.

Stoa had introduced me to a budding B2B insurtech startup.

They were looking for someone with a fresh perspective, and my background in edtech, though unconventional, was appealing to them.

I took on a role that combined my skills in growth marketing and technology.

Fast forward to today, I'm working with a crazy team of people at one of the top B2B insurtech companies.

We're revolutionizing the way businesses handle insurance, making processes smoother and more efficient.

The journey from edtech to insurtech was challenging, but it was worth every hurdle.

To anyone looking to make a career switch, my advice is this:

Embrace the unknown, leverage your unique skills, and always be willing to learn.

You never know where your path might lead.

P.S. Here's what my desk looked like in November '23.

Looking to snag your first job or client and feeling a bit lost? 🤔

Well, today, I've got just the thing

I've got a game-changer book recommendation for you:

“Charlie Hoehn’s Recession Proof Graduate.”

Especially for you who are just starting out, this is a must-read before you step into any job interview or start hunting for clients.💼

It's a short ride - just 80 pages.

You'll breeze through it in a few hours.

But trust me, the insights are as valuable as gold. 💡

Charlie Hoehn’s big idea?

Stand out by doing free work that highlights how perfect you are for the job or gig you’re eyeing.

It’s a powerful way to differentiate yourself, and more often than not, it lands you that coveted position or project.

This approach has shaped my career.

The lessons from this book still resonate with me a lot.

Fun fact: The last opportunity I grabbed was all thanks to some sample work I did for the client beforehand.

-------

Remember, the difference between starting and standing out is just 80 pages away.

Simple Productivity Tip:

Set daily priorities.

I’ve experimented with various productivity techniques over the years.

The most effective days are usually those with 3 main tasks or less.

Pro tip: Tackle the hardest task first.

What do you think?

3 years ago I was unsure about my career, and disconnected from my passion.

2 years ago I began pursuing new hobbies, signing up for online courses, and seeking mentorship.

1 year ago I started contributing to communities and attended a lot of meetups and building meaningful relationships.

8 months ago, I moved to Bengaluru, transitioned to a job that aligns with my future plans and offers opportunities for growth.

Now, I have:
- A Clear Career Path
- New Skills to work on
- Supportive Relationships
- Understanding of B2B space

4 things I didn't have 3 years ago.

I'm growing as a person each day, I’m happy!

P.S. The Bengaluru weather is something I have heard a lot about, but I haven't experienced it until recently.

"We keep moving forward.

Opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious, and curiosity keeps leading down new paths"

I always welcomed tough criticism,

It’s made me better.

There is no doubt,

That it's been the best thing that's happened to me over the years

I’ve had criticism from
➡️College Teachers
➡️Friends and family
➡️Random strangers, online and offline

I have heard things like-
-> Sanskar, w*f are you doing with your life?
-> Stop whatever you're doing online and concentrate on your studies.
-> Why are you spending so much money online?

But I never let it deter me!

I know critical feedback can be frustrating, but you need to understand that accepting criticism can be a game changer.

And unknowingly, those who criticize you are actually helping you succeed.

So, think about what they’ve said (not how they said it), and act upon it.

Welcome feedback with open arms.

And do not give up!

I guarantee your life will change for the better.

29/08/2022

I spent more than $9,000 in the last 3 years on online paid courses.
My friends ask me.
Why did I spend so much on training that isn't even offline?

My answer!
It was pretty simple and straightforward.
Top 3 benefits that online courses give me that physical ones won’t:

It gives me the flexibility to learn on the go, and that's the best thing about it
I get to learn things practically and get to implement them rather than just gaining theoretical knowledge (traditional format)
In addition to building one's mindset, it facilitates great networking opportunities around the world

The possibilities are endless, once you find the right course that will help you reach your goals.

Hope that was helpful.

Btw, what do you prefer?

Learning online or attending a physical class?
