*Supreme Court Verdict In a Nutshell:*

DC Kathua chairs DCDC meet for implementation World Largest Grain Storage Plan

Kathua, November 25: DC Kathua Rakesh Minhas, today chaired a meeting of District Cooperative Development Committee (DCDC) to review the implementation of World’s largest Grain Storage Plan scheme, here at DC Office Complex Kathua.

ADC Kathua Ranjit Singh, CAHO,Dr Yugal Kishor, DDM NABARD Amit Kumar, Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies Tasbina Sheikh, and other members of the committee were also present.

At the very outset, DR Cooperative Societies apprised the DC about the several ongoing schemes of the department viz, Computerization of PACS, converting PACS to PMKS, JAN Ayushdi Kendra etc.

Regarding Jan Aushadhi Kendra, DR informed the DC that currently they are running two JAN Ayushdi Kendra inside PHC Marheen and PHC Lakhanpur besides finding the suitable place for three more Jan Aushadi Kendra. She also highlighted the issues related to the availability of suitable land for super bazaar and mini bazaars.

The DC assured that issues related to the land for Super Bazaar at Kathua and Mini Bazar at Billawar and Bani will be taken up with the concerned Revenue Authority on priority.

The DC Directed Agriculture Department to identify areas where surplus production has been recorded preferably in Hiranagar, Keerian, Nagri and Billawar, where the new grain storage plant can be finalized. He also directed the Agriculture Department to collaborate with the Cooperative department for the establishment of CHC at suitable place.

The DC further directed the Cooperatives Department and NABARD to complete the Pilot Project for Grain storage going on in Marheen enabling the local farming community to get the benefit at the earliest.

The DC also impressed upon the need for roping in FPO Dairy in HADP so that necessary handholding can be extended to the uncovered farming community. He also advised for taking Fisheries department to work in tandem so that fishing community can avail benefit of various tailor made schemes under the aegis of Cooperatives Department.

Regarding utilization of available infrastructure for the larger good of the people, the DC directed the department to use computers of the Cooperative societies for extending digital services to the members as well as the common rural populace.

DPAP Chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad visited the spot where a deadly accident in Doda's Assar took place. He said most of the times, the incidents on this road occured due to high speed, overloading and it is the duty of the administration to ensure traffic rules are implemented.

We are Deeply anguished to learn about the loss of precious lives due to a tragic bus accident at Assar Doda, Jammu and Kashmir.Our heart aches to hear about the tragic accident. This is a black day for whole district Doda & district Kishtiwar.Among the travellers some were also from outside state.The death toll has reached above 37 according to latest update. We request honourable LG governor to look upon the matter and give compensation of at least Rs 5 lakhs for deceased ones and Rs 1 lakh for injured.
Moreover the reason behind increasing rates in accident should be looked upon to avoid any further loss.

Several feared dead in a road accident in Doda after the bus carrying 40 to 55 passengers bearing registration number JK02CN-6555 skidded off the road near Trungal - Assar on Batote-Kishtwar National Highway and fell 300 feet downhill.

Motor road Chilly Paine to Thanath, which was started 4 years ago, vehicles were started for about 2 kilometers. But at Chilly Paine, a person has blocked the road by fencing the road To transport patients and others to the hospital, stretchers have to be used like in 1947. People have been presenting resolutions and requests from the governor's administration to the Bhalessa administration for the last 4 years, but the problems of the people have not been resolved.

DC Doda reviews preparations for ensuing Diwali festival

Doda, November 3: The DC Doda, Harvinder Singh, presided over a meeting to assess the arrangements for the upcoming Diwali festival. The meeting took place at the conference hall of the DC office complex in Doda.At the outset SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom interacted with the Police and Civil Officers and urged for comprehensive plan, awareness, and checking to ensure that firecrackers are sold only at the permitted places/ Shops, with compulsory availability of safety tools, like fire extinguishers, waters etc.During the meeting, the DM instructed the Magistrates, Police Officers and the Executive Officers of all the MCs to identify the locations/ shops for sale of firecrackers and issue necessary permissions to the desirous vendors with clear instructions for abiding the safety measures. Security arrangements were reviewed, and instructions have been passed to take extra care in maintaining peace and hormony and manage traffic in the towns for smooth celebration of the festival. He asked the concerned for close monitoring of the sale of fireworks at designated locations and sales points, ensuring that all safety parameters are met. The Fire and Emergency Services department was directed to have fire tenders on standby to respond to any emergencies, as well as issue guidelines and advisories regarding firecracker safety. DM also exhorted upon the concerned for extensive market checking to ensure the fresh and safe eatables are made available throughout the district and all the food safety measures are thoroughly obliged. Directions have been issued to oversee the quality and pricing of food items, sanitation, and prevent encroachments by vendors in marketplaces and other busy areas. DIO Doda has been tasked with circulating advisories for the safe celebration of the festival. PDD and PHE have been asked to supply uninterrupted power and water supply to the residents. CMO Doda has been instructed to keep the hospitals, medical teams, and ambulances ready for immediate response in case of any eventuality.
A similar meeting was held at Bhaderwah to finalise Diwali arrangements, which was chaired by ADC Bhaderwah Chowdhary Dil Mir. Arrangements related to security, uninterrupted power and water supply, available of essential commodities viz. Vegetables/fruits / milk items on approved rates/sanitation of Bhaderwah town were discussed in detail in the meeting. Tehsildar/executive officer MC/TSO were asked to conduct the market inspections to keep check on quality of food stuff and ensure availability of good quality material on approved rates in the market District Administration DODA District Police Doda.

The people of Manoo set an example of mutual brotherhood, for more than seventy years both Panchayats of Manoo were deprived of roads and today when the machine arrived at the village , the people of Manoo welcomed the contractor Shafqat Tali and took him to the party. People also said that until today we felt that we were out of the map of Jammu and Kashmir, but today it seems that we have been included in the map of Jammu and Kashmir for the first time. People,s of both panchayat Manoo thanks to the District administration and Sub-district administration.
