Rebellion in Maha Alliance in Belapur Could Boost MVA Prospects
Navi Mumbai: With Shivsena deputy leader Vijay Nahata joining NCP and rebellion imminent in BJP ranks, prospects of Maha Vikas Aghadi in Belapur Assembly constituency may become brighter.
Till Nahata's crossing over it was only (BJP-SS-RPI (A)) Mahayuti vs. Mahayuti in Belapur. Both the grand alliance partners, BJP and SS were claiming the Airoli and Belapur constituencies. BJP wants both the assembly constituencies for conceding their rightful claim of the Thane Lok Sabha seat to SS. The Eknath Shinde-led SS wanted the Airoli Assembly constituency.
With BJP now hopeful of being conceded both the Assembly seats here, the Naiks want to contest from both the seats, sitting Airoli legislator Ganesh Naik from Airoli and his son and BJP Navi Mumbai president Sandeep Naik from Belapur. Meanwhile, sitting Belapur legislator Manda Mhatre is hopeful that the party will not ditch her and deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis would back her candidature for her track record in the city.
Manda Mhatre and Sandeep Naik are both very confident of winning the Belapur seat on getting the BJP ticket. But in the same voice they are known to have prepare to contest the seat with or without the BJP candidature. This means one of them will have to rebel against the party. It may be recalled that in the 2014 Assembly elections, due to a vertical split of votes between Ganesh Naik, Manda Mhatre and Vijay Nahata, Manda Mhatre won by a margin of just 1,491 votes. in 2019 Manda Mhatre trounced Ashok Gawde of NCP by a huge margin of 55,316 votes.
The present rebellion between Manda Mhatre and Sandeep Naik could split the BJP and make a unified MVA's prospects stronger. BJP will certainly have to confront the anti-incumbency factor, apart from a unified Muslim vote bank in favour of MVA and polarization of BJP votes. The MVA factions too will have to stay united in the face of Ganesh Naik having loyal friends in all parties and given the BJP's money muscle too to sway loyalties.

India - a Global Hub for Toy Production
Mumbai, 12th September 2024: Kids India 2024 trade show, India’s premier platform for the toy and children’s products industry, kicked off on September 12 at the Jio Convention Centre, Mumbai. Organized by the world’s largest toy fair organizers in Germany, Spielwarenmesse India Pvt. Ltd. - this year’s event brought together leading manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and industry professionals, showcasing the latest trends, innovations, and products shaping the future of play in India.
The opening ceremony culminated in a lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by a VIP tour of the exhibition, where the latest innovative products were showcased, from traditional toys such as board games and soft toys to STEM based learning and educational tools.
This year, Startup India is a prominent partner, supporting entrepreneurs and startups who are transforming the Indian toy industry with their innovative ideas and products. Suyash Tripathi, Assistant Manager at Startup India, Ministry of Commerce and Industries, Govt. of India, emphasized the growing role of startups in the toy market. "The toy industry is seeing a wave of innovation driven by startups. Whether it's eco-friendly materials or tech-enhanced toys, entrepreneurs are reshaping this market. Startup India is proud to be a part of this ecosystem and to support the next generation of leaders in this space," said Tripathi.
With its focus on innovation, sustainability, and growth, Kids India 2024 provides a vital platform for industry stakeholders to connect, collaborate, and shape the future of play. As India continues to align its toy safety standards with international norms, expand its manufacturing base, and innovate with technology, the country is well on its way to becoming a global leader in toy production.
The fair was supported by key industry associations, including the Sports Goods Export Promotion Council (SGEPC) and The All-India Toy Manufacturers’ Association (TAITMA), Ministry of Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) and managed by the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce.
The opening ceremony featured several distinguished speakers, each providing valuable insights into the current state and future direction of the toy industry.

Dashrath Bhagat Appeals to Save Democracy
Karsan Bhagat Moots D. B. Patil Corporation for PAPS
Sandeep Naik Pledges Support to Both
Vashi, Navi Mumbai: Navi Mumbai district BJP president Sandeep Naik lauding the plethora of issues raised for the Project Affected People and the city by the Navi Mumbai Punarvasan Samajik Sanstha led by Dashrath Bhagat assured the establishment of the D. B. Patil Corporation for the rights and welfare of the sons of the soil (Bhoomiputras) demand by BJP Youth leader Nishant Karsan Bhagat.
Sandeep Naik was addressing the Thought Revolution Day on the occasion of Kranti Din, observed on August 9 every year to commemorate the launch of the Quit India Movement by Mahatma Gandhi in 1942 during the 2nd World War calling for the ouster of the British rule from India. The function was organized by the Navi Mumbai Punarvasan Samajik Sanstha and two write-ups, 'Deprived Sons of the Soil and Land Ownership Rights' by Nishant Bhagat and 'Save Democracy' by Dashrath Bhagat were released on the occasion by Sandeep Naik.
'There are very few, select people whose work leave footprints that impact future generations to consider and Dashrath Bhagat is a leader in that legion' remarked Sandeep Naik. he further added that at first sight Dashrath Bhagat appears as a local leader, but in course of time, he emerges as a global leader gathering a boutique of issues and people of all sections of society concerning the city, district, State, Nation and the globe.
Sandeep Naik supported Dashrath Bhagat's call for implementing One State One Election in Maharashtra on an experimental basis, in keeping with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of One Nation One Election. Sandeep Naik pointed out the economic and overall benefits of holding the Assembly and Local Body elections together. Dashrath Bhagat denounced the attempt to curb democatic rights of the citizens by not holding local self-government body elections for over 4 years and giving the bureaucracy the autocratic powers to handle the affairs of the city, in gross violation of Article 243 of the Constitution. He pledged to launch the 'Save Democracy' drive at the function.
Dashrath Bhagat expressed that legislator Ganesh Naik upheld the democratic rights of the city during the said period by meeting the municipal chief every month along with the people's representatives and voicing their civic issues. Sandeep Naik asserted that the city should not be planned and developed from the contractors or builders' point of view, it should be solely in the interests of the residents of the city.
Nishant Bhagat expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde for positively responding to Ganesh Naik's demand addressing the issues of the bhoomiputras in the city. Sandeep Naik assured Nishant Bhagat that the Bhoomiputra Board would be set up in the name of late D. B. Patil, whose name would also undoubtedly be given to the Navi Mumbai International Airport.
Harsh*t Bhagat, voicing the sentiments of the bhoomiputra youth, pointed out aggressively the demand for reservation of jobs, educational seats, plot allotments and stipend for the bhoomiputra youth. He further remarked that the PAPs were cheated of the 12 1/2 % compensation land promised by deducting 3.75 % for infrastructural purposes that was never accounted for.
