Public Transport pt magazine is on a leave until 31-05-2024. India witnessed an incredible growth in transport sector during last one decade.

Interestingly, private vehicles occupied the substantial part of our road network. If the present trend goes undeterred, our roads will soon transform to a mere parking lot for motor vehicles, where the mobility ends. This phenomenon is a catastrophic one. Larger than any natural calamities, the indiscriminate proliferation of motor vehicles lead to a very precarious effect on our social well bei

ng and the environment in which we struggle to live. That's where, a sustainable mobility mode of transport should evolve. The solution is where a strong public transport system exists. To be most piteously, public transport system of our country is insufficient and incapable to cater the mobility need of the country's common populace. Women and children are most suffered among them. Presently the entire world is in a race of establishing the sustainable transport system in their countries. India shall not be an exception to this. To build a strong public transport system integrating the road, water, rail and air transport mechanisms of the country should be our vision to a sustainable mobility
status to be achieved in the present decade itself. Public Transport magazine is dedicated to join and contribute to the country in its great efforts to achieve the same. Hope you all do your best to evolve a wonderful and strong public transport system in our country

TV driver enforcement participation with incentive;

Integrating a camera on the steering control, akin to audio controls, offers ergonomic and practical benefits for transport driving license holders, enhancing traffic enforcement and road safety. This setup ensures easy access, minimizes driver distraction, and provides consistent monitoring of lane deviations and traffic violations, aligning with the Motor Vehicles Driving Regulations 2017. Effective training programs for transport drivers, focusing on system use, regulatory compliance, and defensive driving techniques, are crucial for maximizing benefits and ensuring proficient use. Additionally, a compounding fee percentage incentive for drivers can further encourage adherence to traffic regulations and promote responsible driving behavior. At an initial stage, this can be experimented with KSRTC drivers to assess its effectiveness and gather feedback for broader implementation.
