For the first time in over seven months, the government on Saturday resumed state transport passenger bus services from Imphal to Churachandpur and Imphal to Senapati but the buses bore deserted look. According to the government, the services were resumed for the welfare of the public in view of the upcoming Christmas and New Year. A cordon and search operations conducted by a combined team of Imphal East CDO, Sagolmang PS led by Additional SP (Ops)/IE Kh. Herojit Singh and columns of 2/8 GR under the supervision of Dr. S. Ibomcha, MPS, SP/IE from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm in three different locations viz. Wakan, Shantipur and Khamenlok ridges under Sagolmang PS , Imphal East district have seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition.
In the search operation, the combined team were divided and conducted simultaneous, multiple combing operations in Wakan, Shantipur, Khamenlok ridges and recovered the following arms and ammunitions during the ops-

Bomb Blast at minister Y Khemchand’s residence, CM Condemns Bomb Attack and Assures Arrest of Culprits
IMPHAL | Oct 7
A hand grenade exploded near the gate of MAHUD Minister Y. Khemchand's residence in Yumnam Leikai, Singjamei, Imphal West district, at approximately 9:50 pm.
According to police sources, two unidentified individuals on a two-wheeler threw the hand grenade towards the minister's residence gate. It detonated within the perimeter wall of the residence. The minister was at his residence when the incident occurred.
Minister Khemchand stated that he has not received any threats or demands.
During the attack, a CRPF personnel, identified as SI Das, who was guarding the minister's residence, sustained injuries from bomb splinters on his right hand.
Chief Minister N. Biren strongly condemned the bomb attack and assured that the culprits responsible for this act would be swiftly apprehended. He visited the residence in response to the incident, emphasizing the government's commitment to maintaining law and order in the state.

Rallies across Imphal echo with ‘Go Back AR’ chant, rallyists storm residents of BJP leaders
An effigy of an Assam Rifles Commanding Officer, who had gone viral on social media, celebrating with Kuki women, was set ablaze by the local Meira Paibi group.
The protests were triggered by an August 3-incident in Bishnupur district, the AR faced accusations of violence against women during a demonstration.
During the August 3 protests, at least 25 women sustained injuries, leading to a widespread demand for the complete withdrawal of Assam Rifles from the state of Manipur.
Women stormed the Assam Rifles camp at Chingamathak and residents of MAHUD minister Yumnam Khemchand, BJP president A Sarda, speaker of the state assembly Thokchom Satyabarta and Rajya Sabha MP Sanajaoba Leishemba.
During the rally, protestors shouted various slogans demanding the complete removal of Assam Rifles and other central paramilitary forces and scrapping of separate administration demands.
Several sit-ins were also staged across numerous locations in Imphal including Khurai Sarjor Leikai, Salanthong, Keishampat area, Thangmeiband-Khuyathong area, Wangkhei and many more.
Women protesters from different places stormed Bishnupur district to stop the mass burial by the Kukis.
AR and RAF personnel fired tear gas shells, smoke bombs, pepper spray and even allegedly assaulted women with gun butts to disperse the mob and to stop them from approaching Torbung Bangla.
As many as 25 women sustained injuries in a major confrontation between Assam Rifles, Rapid Action Force (RAF)
