This June, we were pleasantly surprised with the book pitches that came our way as an outcome of having some of the most brilliant interns. The story ideas they brought to the table weren't just presentations for the sake of assignment, but are real ideas, and fascinating stories with depth. And we just can't wait to publish them!

Meet the author of our 123rd publication, "Torn Pages from my Northeast Diary: A Memoir".

Professor Sivasish Biswas is currently serving his second tenure as the Pro-Vice Chancellor of Assam University, Diphu Campus. He joined the Assam University in 2009 as Professor of English and gave shape to the Department as Head for two terms. Prior to that he was Reader and Head at Mizoram University, Aizawl, which he joined from Karimganj College, Assam, in 2004. 

Sivasish Biswas received a Fulbright Scholarship as Scholar in Residence at Central Arizona College, Coolidge, AZ, USA, during 2013-14.

Biswas has nurtured a love for the Northeast spanning 39 years and more, particular attachment being with the tribal world. He has always sided with the subjugated, the marginalized, and lives life on a mantra from his father: “Never harm any living creature; do as much of good as possible.”

Major attractions would be crossing borders, often getting suspended in the in-between zone, absorbing life in process where love is supreme, and hybridization/assimilation affording richness and purity in human life.

We had the best of times, learning, sharing and eating together. We wish nothing but the best for Manen, Dzeveu, Eliniu, Prawalita, Rudrana & Warmushing from Assam Don Bosco University & Amity University, Noida. Today only marks the beginning of a new journey as we look forward to bringing to life all the unfinished projects that unfolded during this exciting month of book pitches.
