needs no introduction, but their orange biscuits do! These prim-proper looking biscuits are an experience waiting to be had. Remember those orange cream biscuits you had when you were lil?! These biscuits are the exact same flavour profile minus the cons from the dalda cream! Clean identifiable goodness of butter makes them a delight! Our families have instantly fallen in love with these.

The second picture is their butter cookies. And they are 70% whole wheat, and 100% buttery goodness. A tea-time companion.

But, I want to come back to the Orange Biscuits.

The Coconut Caramel Custard⭐️. Now that we have your attention, here is our plea. needs no introduction, but what it does need is our help. Places like Nanjing, Souq, Tahini have died an untimely death because they were too ahead of their time for city’s palette maturity. But that no longer stands true.

We recently paid a visit to Mainland China (Almost certain to have an average experience at best). But boy were we proven wrong. The servers were at their toes, the food came out tasting delicious and accurate. But only a few souls occupied the place then, and in the following three consecutive visits we made. 
And hence, this is our petition to protect restaurants like Mainland China. We deserve places which are trying to stand the test of time without absolving themselves of the responsibility of serving good quality food.   Do you have such favourite places, which you worry may shut down since they do not have enough business despite serving great food?! Let us know.

Our recommendations at Mainland China: Salt and Pepper Crispy Vegetables, Dimsums, General Tao’s Chicken, Egg Fried Rice, Singaporean Rice Noodles and even their Pinacolada.

Feast your eyes on our favourite dessert, Pavlova!

I mean, egg whites and sugar baked to a structure which is delicate and crispy on the outside and soft marshmallow-y on the inside, what’s not to like! Top it up with lemon / passion fruit curd and strawberries / blueberries and you are golden!

In Ahmedabad, spoils us with her Pavlova. She only makes it for her own recreation, and never forgets to send us some. And we are so grateful to her for that! This one was just another of her shares.

Do you enjoy Pavlova? Do you know of anyone who makes and offers them (and gets it right, very important! Because meringue is not pavlova. Just saying.)

.in The new, Quick Style Mexican Restaurant, in the city was explored last evening.

The wall art informed us that this restaurant was started in 2015 in USA, by founders who belong to Ahmedabad.

The restaurant is bright, clean, minimalistic, yet provides for everything functional - Right from hooks to hang your bags to baby-chairs. Self-Service format is facilitated by enough, and more, self-explanatory visual directives.

They serve both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. It’s a tex-mex menu, with fair (not extravagant) options to offer.

We tried the Burrito bowl and truly loved how fresh the ingredients were! The shredded chicken (chicken tinga) was epic! The burrito was equally good however it is only served in wheat tortillas, not corn. Unfortunately, the nachos were unavailable so we couldn’t try the salsa, by itself.

The bottomless lemonade was unbelievably refreshing! The chocolate mousse for desert was acceptable. The queso, however, dampened the spirits a tad bit.

The price-point is very attractive and it is certainly a place of interest as long as the consistency is maintained! We are a Mexican starved city, and .in is here to be the filler.

Do not order-in from .ahm …

… Always dine-in instead! 😃Especially if you LOVE your Neapolitan Pizzas. Best consumed within minutes of it coming out of the oven, the nice and spicy 'Diavolo' has been our go-to Pizza, here, since Day-1! And recent visits here, reminded us of the foolishness we've been doing by ordering them in. Yes, ofcourse the past couple of years, getting food delivered was the safest option, and ofcourse there are hacks to reheat the pizza before it sings 'Bring me to life'; straight-out-of-the-oven put things in perspective for us within seconds of taking the first bite. We looked at each other and one of us said - we should only have these pizzas, right here, and not get them delivered.
The crust is so good that it is a snack in itself! Dunk it in some chilli-infused olive oil for drama.

We also truly enjoy and recommend the following:
•Tomato, Burrata, Balsamic Bruschetta
•Truffle’d Cacio e Pepe
•Salsa Cruda
•Mushroom & Miso Ravioli with sundried tomatoes in creamy miso sauce
• Sweet Potato Ravioli in rosemary brown butter sauce (almost always unavailable off late 😭)
• Florentine Pizza
• Funghi Pizza
• House-made Tiramisu and Pannacotta
