Apex Motors Enterprises (M&M) seeks to expand Market in Mokokchung
Mokokchung, November 17: In an apparent boost to the economy of Mokokchung town, the Apex Motor Enterprises – Mahindra & Mahindra, based in Dimapur conducted a job interview to hire sales consultants for the company.
The recruitment team comprising of Human Resource Manager Khamgai Kamei and Upcountry Manager Mhabemo Odyuo conducted the interview at Mokokchung Town Lanur Telongjem (MTLT) office at Arkong Ward on Friday, November 17, 2023.
The job interview was conducted with an aim for expanding the company in Mokokchung district and beyond, said the team. They also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the MTLT for their support in conducting the interviews.
“We are thankful to the Mokokchung Town Lanur Telongjem for making the necessary arrangements, their assistance in mobilizing the manpower and hospitality. Most of all, we are thankful that we got to learn each other and this will go a long way as we partner together for creating more employment opportunities for the youth of Mokokchung,” said Mr. Khamgai Kamei, HRM of Apex Motors Enterprises.
The MTLT General Secretary, Imkongchuba Pongen, while expressing heartfelt gratitude to the visiting Company personnel, said that their venture in Mokokchung town would surely bear fruit in the days to come as Mokokchung is one of the fastest growing towns in the State.
“Mokokchung town has a lot of educated and competent youths who can take up jobs as per their aptitude. The Apex Motors Enterprises coming to Mokokchung and conducting job interviews in Mokokchung is a very encouraging step. The MTLT will always partner with other companies and employers so that our youths can venture out and that our youths can channelize their talent and intellect in a responsible manner for the development of the society,” said Imkongchuba Pongen, the MTLT General Secretary.
The visiting Company officials also visited and surveyed different potential areas in and around the town for opening an outlet in the future.

Two martial artists from Mokokchung bags gold medals

Mokokchung, November 5: Two martial artists from New Kung-fu Martial Arts Academy Mokokchung bagged Gold medals at the 2nd All India Kung-fu Federation Cup 2023 held at DDSC Stadium Dimapur from October 31 – November 2, 2023.

The medalists Mr. Tiakaba and Mr. Raij bagged the gold medals in the tournament.

Mr. Raij also bagged the best fighter of the tournament.

The Mokokchung team was led by coach Mr. Waluniba and Team manager Mr. Bendangakum. The team was sponsored by Bendangakum Trust Fund.

Day 2 of the intensive free Boxing Camp: Things are moving fast under Head Coach Lakatsu Chophy of DYRS and NABA Vice President, as the students are being taught the footwork, which is one of the most essential aspects in the making of a boxer.

Attention please, to all aspiring boxing aspirants

The Boxing Association Mokokchung (BAM) is organizing another free boxing camp from October 10 – 24. The last free boxing camp for the age group 5-16 in the month of July was a rousing success participated by 165 children. This time, the camp will be more intensive with a professional Coach from Kohima who will be assisted by two senior State Level Boxers.

This camp is significant as it is being organized in close collaboration with the Department of Youth Resources & Sports and the Nagaland Amateur Boxing Association (NABA). You wouldn’t want to miss this opportunity!
Therefore, anyone, in the age group of 9-14 years, can download the attached form or type it out in the given format, fill it up and submit it at P. Shilu Ao Park, Imkongmeren Sports Complex from 3:30 p.m. onwards this evening, the 9th of October, 2023.

The camp will be coached by Mr. Lakatsu Chophy, DYRS Boxing coach; he has a NIS Diploma in Boxing Kolkata (1999-2000 batch). He has participated in many national level tournaments; prominent among them are the National Games 2005 at Guwahati and the North East Olympic games where he won medals. He is the Vice President of the NABA since from 2007 till date.

The two Senior State Boxers are Mr. Manchin Konyak and Mr. Uzhozo Nienu who will assist in training the young boxers throughout the camp. Their profiles will be compiled and shared in the days to come.

However, as this camp will be conducted in a very systematic and professional manner as per specification of the Coaches, the trainers and the BAM technical team, it is necessary for the interested person to register his/her name by today itself. Strict rules and regulations would be followed; after all, what is a sport without discipline.

The BAM requests the parents and the interested upcoming boxers to avail this opportunity, as the Association, in its endeavour to promote the sport of boxing is starting from scratch, and the vision is big…Olympic calling. You never know, we might see our own young pugilists representing our country in the Olympics within the next decade. You never know.

Condolence message
The Mokokchung Town Lanur Telongjem (Mokokchung Town Youth Organisation) is greatly shocked to learn about the passing of Late Mr. Achet Mollier in a tragic road accident on October 4, 2023 in Chumukedima area.
Late Achet Mollier was serving as the Cultural Secretary of Ao Students Conference (AKM) and the Media Secretary of the Dimapur Ao Youth Organisation (DAYO) Foothill Unit. The passing away of such a promising leader in the prime of his youth is a great loss for the Naga people in general and the Ao community in particular.
The MTLT pray the Almighty God to give strength and solace to the bereaved family at this hour of grief and loss. May the departed soul rest in eternal peace.

BAM to organize 2nd Boxing Camp from October 10

Mokokchung, October 4: After the successful intensive free boxing coaching camp in the month of July this year which saw the participation of 165 participants, the Boxing Association Mokokchung (BAM) is taking another significant step to promote the sport of boxing in the district in a professional manner.

The next coaching camp will be for the age group of 9-14 years old, both boys and girls, and will be held from 10 – 24 October, 2023. The BAM is organizing the coaching camp in collaboration with the Department of Youth Resources & Sports (DYRS) and the Nagaland Amateur Boxing Association (NABA). A professional boxing coach and two Nagaland senior boxers as assistants have been roped in to conduct the camp.

The BAM has completed the elaborate logistic arrangements for holding the camp and has already booked the spacious P. Shilu Ao Park, Imkongmeren Sports Complex. Registration for attending the upcoming camp is free and forms will be available at Bio-Medical (Pharmacy) Imlong Place, Mokokchung. The collection of forms and registration will be done at the venue on 9th October, 2023 from 3:30 p.m. onwards; it will be the only day for registration, after which no new registration will be accepted.

MTLT office formally dedicated
Mokokchung, September 9: The much needed Office chambers of the Mokokchung Town Lanur Telongjem (Mokokchung town youth organization) was formally dedicated by Rev. Dr. Bendang Longkumer, the Pastor of Artang Baptist Church on Saturday, September 9.
The newly dedicated office comprising of a President’s Chamber, a General Secretary cm media &publicity office, a Conference Hall and a foyer is located in the middle of the town at Arkong Ward. The Office chambers were refurbished after the RTO, Mokokchung shifted its office to its new building in Kumlong ward.
The Pastor, Rev Dr Bendang Longkumer, before the dedicatory prayer, exhorted the MTLT to always keep God in the front while working for the welfare of the people. Speaking from the Book of 1 Corinthians 10: 31, the Reverend encouraged the Mokokchung Town youths to always do everything for the Glory of God. Additionally, he quoted the Book of Philippines 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me…”, Reverend Bendang inspired the MTLT to take strength from the Lord so that they might be bold and stand in truth as they work for the people.
The first President of MTLT, Imkongsanen Imchen, while delivering a short speech, devled on the formative history of the Mokokchung Town Lanur Telongjem during the early days. He said that the MTLT had to face of hurdles during the early days, yet it was the prayer of the parents and the constant support of the MTLT members who sustained the Telongjem thus far.
Likewise, he highly appreciated the present office bearers who have taken the task of opening a dedicated office in the town. He further encouraged the present MTLT office bearers to always keep the welfare of the people first, be bold, stand for the truth and work for the general wellbeing of the people.
The MTLT President, Imnaonen Pongen, while delivering the welcome address, appreciated all who have contributed towards the successful opening of the Office Chambers which was much needed for an organization of the MTLT stature which stands on its motto ‘always vigilant’. He further acknowledged all the MTLT members and also the citizens who have generously donated towards the furnishing of the office. He also deeply appreciated the landlord Mr &Mrs. L. Yanger Aier for leasing the building to the MTLT for which the Telongjem would remain ever grateful for their understanding.
Meanwhile, the programme was chaired by General Secretary Imkongchuba Pongen while the Assistant General Secretary Moarenba invoked God’s blessings.
