On 15th of May 2024, Wildlife Trust of India and Department of wildlife Protection J&K division Shopian participated in the first ever World species congress, being organised by the Reverse the Red- a global movement to ignite strategic cooperation and action to ensure the survival of the wild species and ecosystem. Wildlife Trust of India and Department of Wildlife Protection, Jammu and Kashmir organised a satellite event in hirpora WLS by organising a and painting competition with school children.
The underlying purpose was to lay a strong foundation of wildlife Knowledge among the students who are on the threshold of being the responsible citizens of nation.

Police Arrests 02 Miltant Associates In Shopian, Incriminating Material

May 10, 2024
Police along with Army (44 RR) & CRPF (14th BN) at a checkpoint established at Malik Chak Crossing, arrested 02 miltant associates, both residents of Baba Mohalla Shopian. Incriminating materials have been recovered from their possession.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 14/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Heerpora and the investigation has been initiated.
