Residents of Anuhar Morning Raga Apartments in Hyderabad are up in arms over the sudden demolition of shops attached to their community. Early Thursday morning, tensions flared as residents protested against demolition machinery sent by Hydraa staff, leading to heated arguments between the two parties.

Residents claimed that Despite no allegations of illegal construction or deviations, the grocery, fruit, and vegetable shops on the apartment’s ground floor are being demolished. According to apartment owners, the HMDA permissions were granted in 2016, followed by the Occupancy Certificate in 2018, with no reported deviations in setbacks, floors, or parking provisions.

Hydraa’s Stance

Hydraa Commissioner AV Ranganath clarified the action, stating it stemmed from complaints lodged by 38 families residing in the flats. The grievances reportedly focused on unauthorized commercial establishments, including a bank, supermarket, and other shops operating on the ground floor. With the local municipality’s support, Hydraa moved forward with the demolition, claiming the actions were in response to unauthorized usage.

Background

The apartments, which house over 110 units, were constructed by Anuhar Homes Pvt. Ltd., with land owned by N. Rami Reddy Garu of Golkonda Hotels. Both the builder and shop owners insist there are no legal violations, raising further questions about the motivation behind the demolition.

A fire accident occurred at a puncture shop near Greenland Hotel in Patel bara Amberpet Division, due to a short circuit. The shop owner reported that the fire caused a loss of approximately Rs. 2,00,000 to Rs. 3,00,000.

Upon learning about the incident, Amberpet Corporator E. Vijay Kumar Goud immediately reached the spot and called the fire department, who successfully brought the fire under control.

On this occasion, the corporator informed the Amberpet MRO about the incident and urged them to ensure justice for the shop owner Sandani by providing immediate financial assistance from the government. Leaders from various political parties were also present at the scene to express their solidarity and support for the affected.

The corporator emphasized that since the shop owner belongs to a poor family, the government must provide swift financial aid to help them recover from the loss.
