Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Review

The Himalayan is an iconic model from Royal Enfield. RE launched (HIM) in India when ADV segment was seen only in premium brands. After 7years of study, RE came with a phenomenal upgrade from the Old gen Him 411.

Design
The Himalayan 450 is a fresh motorcycle. The overall dimensions are increased, gets long travel USD forks, New console, larger Tyres, Fuel tank and LC Engine.

Performance
RE has made their first Liquid Cooled DOHC Engine, which churns out 40ps max power and 40Nm Torque.
The Engine has strong mid range and powers all the way till 8000rpm. The low end is sluggish unlike its long stroke siblings, the motor enjoys to be revved.
The Engine is mated to 6 speed Slip & Assist gear box which feels very light to handle and maneuver in city traffics.
Gear ratios are precise and clutch works super good even on hard downsh*ts without locking the wheels.

Handling
The Ergonomics of the new (HIM)is way improved as it handle like a proper tourer machine. It feels light and quick to filter and change lanes. The slight rear set foot pegs gives a sporty feel to surge the motor and have fun.
Though it is lighter by 3kgs weighing 196kgs is a heavier one to handle in city stop and go traffics and slot in tight parking space.
Cruising Speed: 120-130kmph Fuel Economy: 25-30kmpl

Comfort
The raised seat height and taller stance makes the (HIM)suitable for taller riders. It is quiet acceptable for avg height riders with option to lower the seat heights. The seat space is ample to move around. The Suspension at front is softer and rear is slightly hard. Riding on tarmac or highway is confident and comfortable.

Verdict
RE Himalayan is a tough Adventure and touring motorcycle. Well cooked, with top quality equipment and features making it a capable machine for the adrenaline rush enthusiast. There are few portions for improvement like the weight balancing the front feels a lot heavier at the handle bars, the engine has vibration and needs more refinement.

KTM - Duke 250 2023 Review

10 years ago when KTM entered the Indian Market with Duke 200 launch, the hype and excitement was one key the brand holds high for its audience. It's 2023 and now we have the 3rd gen Duke and the hype still is ON.

Design:
All new design with updated swing arm, off set monoshock, extended tank shroud and new headlight is more appealing than the old Duke 250. The design looks more aggressive and feels a lot more like a bigger bike.

Performance:
Powering the Duke 250 is a 250cc LC4c Engine – produce 30.5 PS power and 25Nm Torque, matted with 6 speed slipper clutch and quick shifter GB. It is more refined and power delivery is agile and meets all your expectations. It’s not as aggressive like its siblings but the power is distributed across the band and feels sportier is high revs. The ride by wire, it makes the throttle crisper and more precise.

Handling:
The seat height, lowered Body weight & short handle bar makes it lighter & agile to handle the city traffic and highway runs. The quick shifter and slipper clutch makes riding easier and better. Suspension is set stiffer which works good on corners and highspeed stability. The seat height has lowered to 800mm which makes it quite easier for short riders.
Cruising speed: 110 – 120Kmph Mileage: 28-33kmpl(approx.)

Comfort:
Comfort and ergonomics make it the best 250cc bike in the segment. Be it the riding stance, seats and bike handling makes it sportier and engaging wanting to cover miles.

Features:
The new Duke 250 takes a lot more appreciation for new TFT display console which has lots of info and easy to operate switch gears feels premium.

Verdict:
The new Duke 250 is undoubtedly the eye-catching motorcycle from KTM. Some things could have been better considering the price point 1. Better Brakes 2. Engine protection 3. Tyre hugger 4. Adjustable front suspension 5. USB port.

2023 Dominar 250 BS6 2.0 Review

Sharing the spices from its elder sibling the Dominar 400 which launched in 2016, it set the benchmarks for a Touring motorcycle leveraging the room for a smaller machine which no other brands tried to offer. But Bajaj the trend setter took nearly 4 years to launch the Dominar 250. Thanks to Bajaj for that delicious meal, So how well is it cooked, is it a benchmark still..?

Engine:

The D250 is powered by a 248cc liquid cooled DOHC Engine that produces 27PS power and 23.5Nm Torque. The motor is smooth and power delivery is linear across the range upto 8500rpm, it has strong low and mid range pull performance. The slip-assist clutch makes quick gear shifts and is feather lite. The engine is refined but not the smoothest, at lower rpms there is buzziness on the handle bars and fuel tank.

Performance and Handling:

The D250's longer wheelbase - low and centre set C.G. makes it stable and easier to handle at city stop and go traffic and stability is top notch on top speeds. The D250 effortlessly makes you cruise at 110-120kmph on the highways but in the city you will feel its heaviness. It’s not difficult to ride but it’s not agile in the cities.

Mileage: 30-33kmpl.

Comfort:

D250 is meant for this, take it to a highway or a daily commute you will feel the plush of the Dominar 250. Front USD forks 37mm is softer and rear is adjustable mono shock makes every ride comfortable. The seat is wide and comfortable for both rider and pillion to cover distances. The skinner tyres do provide enough grip and confidence with compromised looks which you can upgrade.
The bike heats up quicker in city traffics but it's manageable.

Verdict:

The D250 is a quarter litre solid built touring focused bike that you can afford, for your daily commute and Long Ride purpose. It has an updated console, safety features, stunning looks and Ready to fit Accessories of D400, it’s a trust worthy machine to buy. The engine tends to pull linear throughout the rev band, but the limiter starts to kick in as low as 7000-7500rpms which makes it a busy motorcycle.

Bajaj Pulsar the ruler of the 160cc segment. The N160 inspired from its sporty siblings.

The gearbox is sleek and power is distributed across the power band to tackle both city and highways.

Quality:

High light of the N160 is its built and quality, be the quality of parts used, fitments, wiring harness and metal fuel tank there is no flaws to find out. A perfect machine to upgrade from a lower 125cc bikes. LED projector Headlight is standout and one of the best in segment.

Fuel economy:

The 15.6Bhp returns mileage of 45kmpl is on average.

Verdict:

The N160 is overall a good performer on demand in Indian market, countering the rivals. Better quality, Refined engine, decent features instruments, USB charger and ride quality it will satisfy your daily needs. The only drawback is sportiness, N160 is more of soft hearted machine to enjoy the rev happy smooth engine. If you are someone who want more sporty riding experience try out NS160.

As Bajaj cares about producing quality motorcyles, the services should also be taken care off.

Bajaj Pulsar NS160 2023 Review

The decade old Pulsar but still a gem of it's look. Be it the muscular tank, sharp tail section nor the scorpion headlight still eye catching.

Performance:
160cc oil cooled engine churns out 17.2 Bhp and 14.6Nm Torque.
Better refined and linear performs compared to previous gen pulsars.
Very sleek 5 speed gearbox and finger light clutch rider delight.
Has enthusiastic Low and Mid Range performance.
Top speed avg. 120Kmph
Cruise speed 78-98Kmph

Ride & Handling:
The high seating & upright handle bar is very comfortable for city and highway rides.
The perimeter frame provides confident riding stance and agile riding.
Seat cushioning is plushes.
The USD fork at front feels well planted and has good front end feel.
Suspension setup is neither hard nor soft but adequate to be comfortable at both city and highway rides.

Features:
After years Bajaj finally updated the speedo console with gear position indicator, DTE and Avg. FE.
A USB charger could be an added advantage.
USD fork is a notable update.
Twin disc and dual ABS provide best braking feel in the segment.

Mileage:
Avg. FE 40-42 Kmpl
But riding sensible and maintaining a low RPM can expect 45kmpl.

Verdict:
The NS160 shares most of its character and looks from its elder sibling 200NS.
For someone who look for more of city and sporadic get-away 160NS is for you.
A bezzy free top speed end, LED headlight, indicators, USB charger would do better value.

Suzuki Access 125 Review 2023

Suzuki Access 125 is a popular scooter, gained its reputation with its sleek design, impressive performance and quality. Here's a comprehensive review about 2023 Access 125.

Design:
Like the old gen Access, New gen looks sleek, neatly shaped to give a classic scooter look.
The chrome treatment gives the scooter an elegant feel.

Performance & Handling:
Powering the Access is a 124cc Engine puts out 8.6bhp which is efficient for city as well as highway commute. It has good initial & mid range torque.
Vibrations are felt on the floor board at initial rpms but engine is smooth, refined & solid on every throttle.
The riding stance is tall and the handle bar is upright it is comfortable and confident on straight line but the softer front forks soaks up when you want to move agile, which is quite doubtful.

Features:
The Access 125 is loaded with practicality with USB charging with glove box, utility storage pocket and decent storage space under the seat as well as roomy floor board.
What the scooter misses out is an integrated fuel tank or a fuel lid which is quite annoying to operate on every fuel fill.
The top spec comes with a Bluetooth connected console that displays turn by turn navigation and other essential readouts but an addition of avg fuel cons., real time mileage could be better.

Mileage:
Suzuki Access 125 is known for its efficiency (avg)50-52 Kmpl on decent riding.

Comfort:
In terms of comfort, Access 125 provide better seat cushion and longer comfortable seats.
The handle bat is short and handy to handle and maneuver traffic.
Suspension is effectively a softer
Setup which soaks up pot holes and undulations.

Verdict:
Suzuki Access 125 is an all round performer with premium quality, practicality, effective performance and efficient engine. There are some points where Suzuki could work on like the floor board vibration, more information on speedo console, and proper fuel lid operation.
But then built quality "Old gen Access was gold". With metal panels.

The Suzuki Avenis 125 Review Better than Ntorq..??

Design:

The Avenis 125 is designed that combines sportiness with elegance. The aerodynamic bodywork, hot tail section and sharp lines give the scooter a distinctive and eye-catching appearance. The build quality is top-notch, with solid Fit and Finish.

Performance and Handling:

Equipped with a 125cc, single-cylinder, 8.5bhp, the Avenis delivers a peppy performance. The engine provides strong low & top end while the linear mid-range is sufficient for urban commuting, easily navigating through city traffic and offering a smooth acceleration. The scooters lightweight construction and agile handling makes through congested streets effortless, allowing riders to zip through tight spaces and take sharp turns with confidence. There is vibration on the floor board on idle rpm but the engine feels like butter once you accelerate.

Riding Comfort:

The Avenis 125 offers a comfortable riding position, with an upright stance and a well-padded seat. The suspension setup is effectively stiffer that absorbs road imperfections, ensuring a smooth and comfortable ride. However, the seat could be a little more cushioning to enhance long-distance comfort.

Suzuki has equipped the Avenis 125 with a range of features. The bike features a digital instrument cluster that displays essential information such as speed, fuel level, and trip meter, Avg fuel, Ins. fuel eco. and Navigation. USB charger with door pocket. Mileage solid 50-55kmpl. Based on riding conditions.

Verdict:

The Suzuki Avenis 125 is a commendable option in the 125cc commuter bike segment. With its stylish design, peppy performance, comfortable ergonomics, and impressive fuel efficiency, it caters to the needs of urban riders. While a slightly more cushioned seat would enhance long-distance comfort, the Avenis 125 overall offers a fantastic package for riders who prioritize practicality, performance, and Quality. The Suzuki Avenis 125 is undoubtedly worth considering.

Royal Enfield Hunter – Like the name tells its built like a gun to Hunt the roads it explores.

349cc Oil cooled Engine produces 20.2bhp and 27Nm torque.

RE has clearly set their benchmark to haters for who they are with the development of J- series Engines by carrying their tradition to the modern norms.

*Styling*

The Hunter comes in 3 variant Retro, Metro dapper & Metro Rebel with the initial look it reminds you like a scram or continental but it’s a mixer of both.
Retro is a low spec cost cut version misses a lot of visual and mechanics like the alloy wheels, speedoconsole, Led bulbs and disc brakes.
Metro variants comes with visually appealing paints, alloy wheels, better looking speedo dials, indicator, dual disc and ABS.

*Engine*

350cc Oil cooled engine feels refined with punchy low and mid range performance. J-series engines have transformed RE biking experience to a whole new level, vibrations are well damped even at top speeds. Hunter can easily let you cruise at 100 – 110 Kmph and it can clock upto 120 Kmph.
Mileage 30-35kmpl

*Handling & Comfort*

Short seat height and close set handle bar is comfortable for all riders and shorter wheelbase makes the Hunter agile and nimble through traffic. Though it weights 177Kgs Hunter never feels so much even at parking.
Hunter is comfortable to ride in City and Highways with its softer well damped suspension.
The rear seat could have been a bit longer to accommodate two large size adults for longer rides to be comfortable.

*Verdict*

Be it the brands entry bike pricing from 1.5lakhs it is solid and tough to break.
If you are someone who hated RE for its vibrations get a test ride, you will gel with it.
There are some exposed parts but its not upto to a complain level.
If you are someone who want a retro typed pocket rocket unlike the small speed engines, choose Hunter to Hunt the roads.

160CC Segment - Who's the King 👑

A Neck to Neck comparison
To whom the title belongs - A King is not one who excels only in war but one who is practical, optimistic, and looks after everything - *The Best Machine*

*Engine*
Powering the Bikes all is 160cc
Apache 160 4V 17.3bhp
Pulsar NS160 17.03bhp
Pulsar N160 15.68bhp

Undoubtedly the is less powerful compared to the rivals
But is a very Torque motor that has strong low and mid range performance.

Between and 160 4V
The Apache feels better in terms of refinement and power delivery
The initial pull is good and engine accelerate all the way to red line.
Whereas the NS160 has the weight disadvantage in performance so it feels bit slow.

*Ride & Handing*
Clearly in ride Quality and Confidence the does a better job, The chassis of both Pulsar's has good confidence in terms of Braking, handling and stability becoz of Stiff rear suspension and bigger forks.
(Dual channel ABS is added advantage).

But the is no way a loser.. It is perfectly calibrated for both city and highway ride.. has a softer suspension setup and riding posture which is practical and comfortable.

*Features*
The is one who clearly brags the title with loaded features Like the riding modes, adjustable levers, Auto Glide Technology, X connect speedo console.

Here both the Pulsar's lack in features
the N160 gets a usb charger which the Apache doesn't & it has the best in segment powerful projector head light.

The is the out dated one which misses out a lot of features in the modern days, Thanks for the USD forks, Gear indicator, Dual ABS and a larger brakes.

*comfort*
The Pulsar's have the longer seats a flat fuel tank and comfortable seating posture with good rider triangle.
But still needs individual adjustment for rear suspension stiffness and quite difficult for softer riders and taller seating.
Where as the Apache is perfectly matted for the comfort and practicality with softer springs and smaller seats, which is good for shorter and Avg. height adults.

*Verdict*
Considering the price and features
Apache 160 4V is the King 👑

Hero Xoom - The stylish scooter in 110cc segment.

*Styling*
Design wise it is the best looking scooter with sharp edges, Cuts and sweeps.
Those 12" Wheels for both ends make it a stand out feature in the segment.
Colours and dual tone & paint quality is top notch.

*Engine*
Powering the machine is 110cc Engine puts out 8.1Ps and Torque 8.7Nm.
Hero claims this is the same 110cc engine used in Maestro edge 110, but this is finely tuned the character of XOOM.
And yes it is, we can feel the torque from the throttle for every twist.
The engine is peppy and powerful at lower and mid range whereas it is quit buzzy when accelerated hard.

*Performance - Ride Experience*
Riding the Xoom feels like more of a bike than a scooter, it is agile, planted & throatier exhaust.
It soaks up pot holes and speed bumps well.
The telescopic fork suspension in the front is soft and rear is set hard which makes the riding planted, but this makes a compromise riding it in bad patch roads.
The acceleration is quick from 0-60kmph post that becomes slower..
To our test Xoom did a top speed of 75kmph

*Features*
The base model LX comes with Classic Analogue and digital odo, trip, fuel indication and Avg. Fuel consumption.
The VX and ZX models gets a fully digital console.
The Top model also offers Bluetooth connectivity for calls notification alerts.
The top model features a automatic cornering lamp with gyroscope sensors. It is quite good to see innovations but i personally feel an orange light with blinking set up could have done better purpose during ride.

*Storage/Space*
Hero Xoom offer ample amount of storage space up front and boot.
You can accommodate a mid size full or half face helmet inside the boot
There's good knee room and leg room, but the floor board space is quite small that you cannot carry big cargo boxes.

*Mileage*
This is a head tuner on the street
You can highly expect this scooter to return a mileage of 50kmpl on decent riding condition.
Tank capacity 5.2L

*Verdict*
This is the good but could have been better. Like Switch gears, floor board space, suspension.

TVS Jupiter Classic Decade Defender.

Engine:
110cc strong base line and mid range scooter with Decent performance throughout the throttle.
Very good fuel figures ⛽
Solid 50kmpl onroad on decent riding.
Engine feels slight buzzy on quick throttle.
Vibrations yes you can still feel it.

Styling:
Comparing to its other rivals,
I personally liked this one better, becoz TVS offers 7 different colours and options/variants, the base model steel wheel to Classic 5M edition.

Handling:
Handle bar feels upright and seating is tall, there is good knee room and leg room.
Handle bar feels short and handy to toggle the traffics
Front telescopic suspension feels hard and this makes the scooter well planted.
Rear suspension is soft and adjustable help to soak most bumping roads.

Built Quality:
TVS uses nice touches here with wide colour options and features.
The outer look feels good clean and lasting.
But when comparing with its rivals
The switches could have been better, the plastics could have fit better and solid.

Highlights:
1. TVS color options and variants
2. TVS digital speedo console on the top variants
3. Boot space and front storage pockets
4. Handling and riding dynamics
5. LED headlights
6. TVS auto engine cutoff
7. Fuel Efficiency

Overall rating and value for money rating: 8⃣ / 🔟
Verdict: TVS Jupiter 👌👍
