This paragraph perfectly sums up how you should look forward as a new year approaches. How you need to start loving yourself in spite of all the pain and sadness that you might have witnessed in the past.

'You know, I hate those fu***ng, twinkling stars', he quipped as they sat in their balcony.
'Where did this come from', she asked in a surprised tone.
'I just hate them & all that they represent, the fictional romanticism, the token of hope, the symbol of aim, the sign of good things to come, the motif of love, & what not.
This hope is a sneaky little bastard, I tell you.
How often have we seen our hopes rise, only to be doused by the fires of disappointment & failures.
It's never getting any better. Why don't we just accept it & stop hoping', he said as he scowled towards those stars.

'Maybe, it's because we know what beautiful looks like, & we know that it's somewhere out there, & even though it may all seem bleak and pointless, & life is nonsensical that way a lot of times, but still we got to cherish good times, to admire beauty around us, to laugh with our loved ones, to take chances, to love those who are out there waiting for us, & most importantly to hope that it's going to be alright, for if we can't do that, what are we even doing here in the first place', she said as she put her head on his shoulders & joined him to gaze at those stars.
