Sangita Patil obtained her Doctorate Degree in Ecofeminism at Tumkur University, and she has published several academic publications including Ecofeminism and Indian Novel, by Routledge, London & New York. She has contributed to numerous edited collections, such as “An Ecohumanist Perspective: Theorizing Ecofeminism through a Spatial Analysis of Amitav Ghosh’s The Hungry Tide” in Ecologies of Gender: Contemporary Nature Relations and the Nonhuman Turn by Routledge Environment Humanities and “Hindi Literature and Ecofeminism” in The Routledge Handbook of Ecofeminism and Literature. She has composed promotional endorsements for Indian Feminist Ecocriticism edited by Douglas Vakoch and Nicole Anne.
She presented papers and chaired National and International conferences. She chaired the Panel Discussion: ‘Critical EcoHumanities–The Role of Literature in Cultivating Ecologies of Solidarity and Care, The Deep Commons’, Online International Conference 2022 hosted by the Department of Government and Politics, University College Cork, Ireland, in association with La Terre Institute for Community and Ecology, Mississippi, USA. Short story writing is her passion and her research interests include Ecofeminism, Ecohumanism, Kannada Theatre, and Cultural Studies.
