Continuing the drive against drug abuse and illicit liquor launched by District Police Reasi. Reasi Police recovered illicit liquor and arrested the bootlegger involved in smuggling of illicit liquor.

Police party of Police Check Post Balini, during checking and frisking apprehended one person namely Bansi Lal @ Bittu S/O Lt Ram Saran R/O Dhirti Katra District Reasi and recovered 18 quarters of 250 ml JK special desi whisky from his possession.

In this regard, cognizance taken and FIR No. 107/2024 U/S 188 IPC stands registered at P/S katra. Further investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft case FIR No. 105/2024 US 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Katra after getting complaint of theft, when unknown individuals stole vehicle JK14D 4658 white tavera from Katra.

A special team was constituted by 𝗦𝗦𝗣 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮- 𝗜𝗣𝗦 to recover the stolen vehicle which was led by 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗡𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗚𝘂𝗽𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝗛𝗢 𝗣/𝗦 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗗𝗣𝗢 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗦𝗵. 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗵 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮.

During investigation several suspects were rounded up and after sustained questioning white tavera has been recovered from the forest area of Deva Mai Katra. The swift action taken by Police Station Katra to recovering the stolen vehicle demonstrates their dedication to maintain law and order in the region and sending a stern message to those involved in criminal activities.

Mohita Sharma-IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi while sharing the details conveyed that further investigations to unearth his linkages with other theft cases of district Reasi is going on and more arrests and recoveries can’t be ruled out in the case.

Kavita was presented with the Gold Medal by Shri Banwarilal Purohit, Governor of Punjab & Administrator of the Union Territory of Chandigarh, Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice Chancellor of GNDU and other dignitaries.

SSP Reasi Ms Mohita Sharma-IPS along with Dy.SP Hqrs. Reasi Sh. Neeraj Padyar-JKPS and SHO Reasi Chaman Gorka visited Police Post Talwara/Dera Baba and Gurudwara Dera Baba Banda Bahadur & took stock of preparedness of Police units in view of upcoming Parliamentary Elections and Baisakhi festival.

SSP Reasi took stock of the work & function of various units, where she interacted with the Officers & Jawans and asked them to work with dedication, zeal & zest. She further asked the officers to remain available round the clock for assistance of the pilgrimage & general public. SSP Reasi also checked all the Nakas enroute and on spot directions issued for following proper SOP during checking.

A threadbare discussion was held with officers on all the aspects and preparedness related to upcoming General Parliamentary Elections-2024, besides review on crime and other allied things as well. Officers were directed to personally visit each Polling Station of their area of responsibility to conduct physical inspection to maintain surveillance/area domination as per vulnerability and critically mapping of the Polling Stations. The officers were emphasized upon to remain fully geared and brief the manpower at their command and activate their sources for efficient surveillance on ground.

SSP Reasi also paid obeisance at the historic Gurudwara Baba Banda Singh Ji Bahadur and prayed for peace, progress, prosperity and well-being of people.

Acting on the reliable information regarding presence of a hideout in the general area of mahore sub division, a joint operation was launched to sanitise the area which was jointly led by Reasi Police and Army 58 RR in the Lancha area of Mahore.

In continuous drive against Drug Abuse launched by District Police Reasi under Operation JEEVANDAN, surprise naka & checking is being conducted to check the offenders & criminals.

Police team of Police Station Katra received an information that one person namely Liaquat Ali S/O Mohd Kala R/O Chak Bhagtha, Katra who is already involved in sale/purchase of Charas & G***a and at this time he along with other 2 persons were consuming and also have possession of Charas & G***a like substance in an abundant shed at Nomain near Peer baba.

On this information, Police party of P/S Katra alongwith EMIC Katra raided the spot and recovered (1) 82 grams of g***a & 34 grams of Charas from the possession of Deepesh Pal S/O Ranveer Singh R/O Kashganj, U.P A/P Matyal, Katra, (2) 51 grams of G***a & 16 grams of Charas from the possession of Liaquat Ali S/O Mohd Kala R/O Chak Bhagtha Katra (3) 50 grams of G***a & 16 grams of Charas from the possession of Sanju Kumar S/O Rashid Kumar R/O Landar, Panchari, District Udhampur.

In this regard, a case FIR No. FIR No.65/2024 US 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Katra and investigation is ongoing to unearth backward and forward linkage. The whole operation was led by SHO P/S Katra Inspr. Nishant Gupta under the supervision of SDPO Katra Sh. Surinder Singh Baloria.

𝗦𝗦𝗣 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶 𝗠𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮-𝗜𝗣𝗦 while sharing the details conveyed that Reasi Police is working on multipronged strategy to deal with the problem of drug abuse, on one hand awareness programs are being organized in every nook and corner of the district and on the other hand drug peddlers are being booked under PITNDPS Act on regular basis, whereas Reasi Police also started Anti Drug Helpline Number 9070907017 for general public where identity of caller will be kept secret.

SSP Reasi while giving tough message for drug peddlers added that there is no space for Drug Peddlers in Reasi. Drug peddlers should shun the path of spoiling our generation and must return to mainstream otherwise they will be dealt with Iron hand.

𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝗣𝗮𝘂𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗷𝗮𝗻-𝗝𝗞𝗔𝗦, 𝗦𝗦𝗣 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶 𝗠𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮-𝗜𝗣𝗦, *CO IR- 1st Bn Anita Sharma-IPS* Addl. SP Reasi Sh. Iftkhar Ahmed-JKPS, Addl. SP Katra Sh. Vipan Chandran-JKPS, SDPOs and other senior police officials. The meeting focused on devising strategic measures to enhance security, combat the threat of OGWs as well as ANEs to ensure the peaceful conduct of upcoming elections.

𝗦𝗦𝗣 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶 𝗠𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗮-𝗜𝗣𝗦, provided a detailed overview of the proactive measures taken by the police to address challenges at the grassroots level and breifed the chair regarding the election preparedness including enforcement of model code of conduct, expenditure monitoring, security plan, security of contesting candidates/Strong rooms, transport and communication plan and the functioning of SSTs, VSTs and FSTs and coordination efforts to ensure a successful election process.

Officers gave brief reports on action taken and next course of action. SSP Reasi gave an elaborate Power Point presentation on the preparedness of Parliamentary Election and DEO presented District Election Management Plan (DEMP).

𝗔𝗗𝗚𝗣 𝗟𝗔𝗪 & 𝗢𝗥𝗗𝗘𝗥 𝗦𝗛𝗥𝗜 𝗩𝗶𝗷𝗮𝘆 𝗞𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗿-𝗜𝗣𝗦 stressed the importance of establishing a robust security grid and taking all preventive measures to thrawt the attempts of ANEs to disturb the upcoming Parliamentary elections.

He emphasized leveraging modern technology for transparent and result-oriented policing and urged officers to adopt innovative approaches to tackle contemporary challenges.

In the meeting threadbare discussions were held regarding security arrangements for forthcoming Parliamentary Elections. All the officers shared their inputs & arrangements to 𝗔𝗗𝗚𝗣 𝗟&𝗢 for peaceful conduct of Parliamentary Elections.

SSP Reasi briefed about various security arrangements in place for the peaceful conduct of these events in co-ordination with intelligence agencies and security forces deployed in the district.

𝗔𝗗𝗚𝗣 𝗟&𝗢 also expressed his concern to contain if there is any attempt to revival of militancy in the district by adopting a pro active approach and alertness of highest level.
Social media monitoring and generation of human intelligence was top among the directive of the Officer. Further directed to use full energy of jawans and give 100% for free, fair and peaceful conduct of Parliamentary Elections.

Meeting ended with the positive note on Coordination and Cooperation between all the security forces & sister agencies.

*POLICE OBSERVER VISITS REASI TO OVERSEE ELECTION PREPAREDNESS*

Police Observer for 5-Jammu parliamentary constituency Dr. Bhopal Gajarai, IPS Observer visited DPO Reasi to oversee election preparedness. He held meeting with SSP Reasi, District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Reasi and other senior Police officers at DPO Reasi.

Police Observer advised the officers to continue their efforts, work with dedication. He emphasized on the need for strict adherence to election rules and regulations, especially in ensuring free and fair polling process and urged the officers to be vigilant in addressing any concerns that may arise.
