happening in BHANKHARPUR. The farmer's/khewatdar's of village has been deprived of the agriculture land allotted to them during consolidation in the year.1960-61. Our village is situated on the Chandigarh Ambala Highway near Chandigarh. Most of the popu
lation in the village depends on farming to earn their living. After the existence of the land act in the year 1950, the consolidation schemes of our village was also made in the year 1960-61. The consolidation scheme of our village is not fully implemented in the last 50 years after the consolidation. The farmers were selling their share of land in their possession till year 2006 and the sale deeds were executed by the office of the Tehsildar, Derabassi before the status quo orders of the Hon'ble high Court of Punjab & Haryana, Chandigarh. In the consoldiation scheme of our village it is clear how much land is given to the farmers for cultivation and how much land is left for the village common purposes. Now, the details of the total disputed land regarding which the matter of ownership right is pending in the Hon'ble courts is 5235 kanal 12 Marle. It is clear in the consolidation scheme that this land is given to the farmers/proprietors but, the farmers of the village were shown as cultivators in the land and revenue record of the said land. Now, the rates of land has rises from lakhs to crores in the last 5 years. The farmers are demanding ownership right of 650-acre land that has been under cultivation by them for the past 50 years. The Punjab Goverment has recently declared the entire land as comman land and now planning to lease out all the land in cultivation to big Company after getting favour from them. please save the life of Bhankharpur kisans.
