A week in Goa - Instead of the usual sun, sand, and sea, the Kabes Media team embarked on a journey visiting schools across the state, capturing the vibrant spirit of the "Goa is Reading" project by Pratham Books

The enthusiasm and energy of the children were nothing short of inspiring. Their eagerness to learn and explore the world of books was a sight to behold. It was a reminder of the pure joy that reading can bring into our lives.

A huge shout-out to the incredible teachers and staff whose support and kindness made this experience unforgettable.

Thank you, Goa, for the memories and lessons. We came to film a project, but left with heartwarming stories and experiences.

Our team was in Niyamgiri hills of Odisha to film the "Niyamraja Parab", a festival to preserve the forest and culture of people living there for thousands of years. Festival days spent at Niyamgiri hills filled with learning and unlearning for all of us in the team.

Yesterday, Kabes Media had the privilege of capturing the Sarjapur Blues Band (SBB) in action! With over 30 years under their belt, Shekhar Seshadri and Vinoo Matthew brought an underground vibe straight from Sarjapur Road to Jakkur. Their performance was magical, blending original rhythm and blues with hearty laughs and profound thoughts.

From questioning the "opposite of chronic competence" to musing on grief as love with nowhere to go, SBB delivered an intimate experience that went beyond music. Their "ephemeral serendipity" ethos shone through, proving that every performance is a unique journey.

Their banter, sprinkled with philosophy, and refusal to play a song the same way twice made the evening unforgettable. As they say, they're not just playing music; they're crafting experiences. We just wrapped up our "Capturing Change" workshop with some incredible Gram Mitras and Vikas Mitras from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana, and it was an absolute blast!

We had so much fun juggling languages, sharing laughs, and diving into the art of visual storytelling with just our phones and some awesome open-source tools. But the workshop was about much more than just taking photos. It was about capturing those little moments that have a big impact and sharing stories that can resonate far and wide.

A huge shoutout to everyone who brought their energy and passion to the workshop. It's your drive that creates real change. Keep capturing those meaningful moments and weaving your narratives – because your stories matter.

Our team member has taken the first big step, working in the direction and casting department of the Kannada blockbuster movie Kaatera. He directed his first short film, "Jaya" with us, after which he worked on the Kaatera film for two years. All of us watched the film at the cinema, whistled and clapped as we saw his name and him on screen in a role as well. Kaatera is one of those few films with "land reforms" as a critical theme. Post-film, we had a lengthy discussion on his experience working on the film with some hot tea. As he prepares for his next big step towards directing feature films, we have only best wishes for his journey. May the force be with his vision ❤️❤️❤️

Starting the year 2024 with a bang! Today, our team went for our first team movie outing of the year to watch the Malayalam film 'Neru'. We swapped our morning blues for some movie magic, which proved to be the right escape we all needed. 'Neru' wasn't just a movie; it was a reminder of the joys of shared experiences. Here's to more movies, more memories, and having the whole team together soon!
