Jagannath Panda's works encapsulate the tension of daily living within an urban environment. The artistic mapping process of imprinting this territory into viewer sights, criss-crossed from the mythical to the technological, the corporate to the common riding across a materiality of references. He picks up things while wandering around streets, talking about many aspects of the city, noticing the constantly changing building uses, like an epic unfolding. He veers away from conversational artist tools of colour and canvas and negotiate with multiple materials such as wood, cement, fabric - birds making all of them a catalyst for his thoughts. He did many works during lockdown period including his Owl work with acrylic and fabric glue. Lockdown has forced him to do more works. He warns it does not necessarily mean all works are good or creative.
