Budgam, August 2: The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Budgam, Akshay Labroo (IAS) today initiated a series of developmental projects which included Kandoora Rapid Sand Filtration Plant under Jal Jeevan Mission, Mcdamisation of major Link Road, development of Volley ball court, installation of new LT Poles during the follow up Block Diwas held at Panchayat Halqa Kandoora in Block Beerwah.
The major WSS scheme has different components including RFP, LG Service Reservoir and pipeline network. The project shall benefits as many as 5000 households of the area.

Speaking at the Block Diwas function, the DC said that the motive of conducting such programmes is to ensure work on all approved projects is carried out swiftly and quickly on ground and completed in stipulated timeframe.

He said that it is Lieutenant Governor's vision that the work on all approved projects is carried out quickly within the stipulated timeline on the ground and that the program is closely monitored by the Chief Secretary, J&K.

The DC reiterated that the District administration is committed to ensure that all approved projects are completed in time.
He said under the same vision, a series of projects were inaugurated today at Kandoora for public convenience.

DC appreciated officers for their hard work and dedication in completing projects in time to ensure people get benefited under various government schemes.

During Block Diwas Programme, Locals PRIs, elders and youths appreciated the district administration for timely redressal of their genuine demands and ensuring completion in stipulated timeframe and dedicating these projects to the general public at the earliest.

Sarpanch Manigam arrested for demanding and accepting Bribe of Rs 9000 at Ganderbal

Srinagar 01 Aug, (CNS): Sarpanch Manigam arrested for demanding and accepting Bribe of Rs 9000.

Sources told CNS that a complainant approached PS ACB Srinagar, with a written complaint against a public servant; Muzaffar Ahmad Rather, Sarpanch Manigam-A, alleging demand of bribe for settlement of property dispute between the complainant and his sister.

The two siblings had some dispute over distribution of property. Sister of complainant approached the accused Sarpanch for settlement.

The complainant alleged that Sarpanch has repeatedly been demanding bribe from him for settlement of the issue. Initially an amount of ₹20,000 was demanded by the Sarpanch, however, after negotiations, he agreed to accept an amount of Rs 9,000 from the complainant.

The complainant did not want to pay bribe and instead approached Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Srinagar for taking legal action against the accused public servant as provided under law.

Accordingly On receipt of the complaint, a Case FIR No. 13/2023 U/S 7 PC Act 1988 was registered with PS ACB Srinagar and investigation taken up.

Meanwhile During the course of investigation, a trap team was constituted by this Bureau, which laid a successful trap and caught the accused public servant red handed while demanding and accepting bribe amount of ₹ 9,000 from the Complainant ,The money was recovered from the accused on spot. The accused has been identified as Muzaffar Ahmad Rather S/O Wali Mohd Rather R/O Manigam, Sarpanch Manigam-A.(CNS)

*Baramulla police recover kidnapped girl within hours in Budgam, arrest accused*

Srinagar, July 21 (KS) : Police on Saturday said to have recovered a kidnapped teenage girl within hours and arrested the accused person involved in the abduction from Budgam.

In a statement issued to Kashmir Scroll a police spokesman said that on 21/07/2023, one person (name withheld) lodged a written complaint with Police Post Palhallan stating therein that his daughter’s (name withheld) aged about 16 years has been kidnapped by one person namely Gowhar Abbas S/O Mohd Abbas Wani, a resident of Kralwari Chadoora. To this effect, case FIR under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Pattan.

He said, on this information, Police Post Palhallan swung into action and recovered the abductee within 6 hours from Gamandar Chadoora area of Budgam district and the accused has also been arrested from the spot.

After completing the legal formalities, the abductees were handed over to their legal heirs. Further Investigation of the case is going on, the spokesman added.(KS)

Nine Accused of Securing Job in SKIMS Soura Via 'Fake, Forged' Documents; CBK Files chargesheet

Srinagar 21 July (CNS): Against nine accused, who have allegedly secured jobs in SKIMS Soura through forged and fake documents, a chargesheet has been filed by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Crime Branch Kashmir (CBK), said its spokesperson on Friday.

As per the news agency CNS, the CBK said that the case owes its origin to an official communication received by Crime Branch Kashmir from the Director, SKIMS Soura who complained that pursuant to SKIMS Soura order No. SKIMS-23 (P) of 2015, among others, Shakoor Ahmad Tantray S/o Mohammad Yousuf Tantray R/o Ponipora Kulgam; Mohammad Shahid Murtaza S/o Mohammad Shaban Dar R/o Wanpora Kulgam; Shazia Hassan D/o Gh. Hassan R/o Kulpora Srandoo Kulgam; Mudasir Bashir Sofi S/o Bashir Ahmad Sofi R/o Noorbagh Kulgam and Shameem Ahmad Naik S/o Hamidullah Naik R/o Banimullah Kulgam were appointed as Nursing Orderlies subject to verification/ genuineness of their academic credentials/ D.O.B. certificates etc.

"However, as per the verification report furnished by the Joint Secretary (Verification), J&K State Board of School Education, Kashmir, it transpired that the academic/ D.O.B certificates submitted by the above-named individuals were fake and forged," said the CBK spokesperson in a statement.

Accordingly, a case FIR No. 26 of 2015 was registered in P/S Crime Branch Kashmir and investigation was started to probe into the allegations, it added.

The probing agency further said that its Economic Offences Wing produced the charge-report in case FIR No. 26/2015 u/Ss 420, 468, 471 & 120-B RPC of P/S Crime Branch Kashmir against the nine persons for their alleged involvement in fraudulently securing jobs in SKIMS Soura after having committed criminal conspiracy, cheating, and forgery of certificates etc.

Calls for strengthening of Cooperatives and saturation in computerisation of PACs

Budgam, July 17:-The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Budgam, Akshay Labroo (IAS) today chaired district level District Cooperative Development Committee meeting at Conference Hall here.
Stressing on the strengthening of the Cooperative movement at ground level, the DC directed on formation of FPOs in each of the district.
While as FPOs already exist in 7 blocks of the district, instructions were given to the concerned agency to write about formation of same in other blocks to the concerned central agency and ground work including mobilisation and registration for it be initiated simultaneously in all blocks.
The DC emphasised on timely adoption of model bylaws by all primary agriculture credit societies (PACS) to make them economic generation resources. He also directed concerned for timely updating of data in National Cooperative Database under phase – I and Phase- II in the district.
Instructions were given to all line departments to work in complete synergy for smooth convergence of PACS with schemes including PM- Kusum besides identification PACS for setting up of Jan Aushadhi Kendras at all required spots in the district.
During meeting, Deputy Registrar Cooperative Budgam, Abida Nabi presented an overview of the present status of cooperative societies in the district besides deliberated upon the work being done to strengthen the Cooperative movement across the district.
The DC directed the officers to to ensure CSC registration of all the 54PACS of District Budgam to be completed by next week.
He also directed the Cooperative Department to ensure higher registration of FPOs during the current financial year.
DC also reviewed the operation of Super Bazar, registration on GeM, and forming and revival of Cooperative societies.

DC Budgam along with SSP Budgam conducts 13th NCORD meeting to review measures against drug menace

Budgam, July 17:-Deputy Commissioner(DC) Budgam , Akshay Labroo (IAS) along SSP Budgam on Monday conducted the 13th meeting of District Level Committee of Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD) here at Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex to take review of the action taken by the concerned Departments with regard to decisions held in previous meetings.

The future course of action to uproot the drug menace and destruction of Narco crops from Budgam District was also formulated during the meeting.

The meeting among others was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police, Al- Tahir Gilini , Additional District Development Commissioner, Dr. Akhramullah tak, CEO, CMO, all SDMs, Assistant Drug Controller, Excise officer , Tehsildar Hq and other concerned.
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner took detailed feedback from every concerned Department regarding the measures undertaken for combating illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances and its consumption in the District to save youth from the dangerous effects of the drugs.

At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner said that drug abuse is a serious problem that not only affects individuals, but also families and communities.
He stated that it is essential to tackle the issue from multiple perspectives, including deterrence, treatment and enforcement.

The DC reiterated that the District Administration is committed to create a drug-free environment in the District and will continue to take all necessary steps to achieve this goal.

On the occasion, the DC directed Assistant Drug controller Budgam to install CCTV camera in the drug stores and achieve 100% saturation .

*Kashmir University spokesperson among three govt employees dismissed for militancy links*

Srinagar, July 17 (KS):- Jammu & Kashmir government on Monday sacked three more government employees including a policeman and spokesperson of Kashmir University invoking Article 311 of the Constitution of India.

The dismissed employees were allegedly involved in secessionist activities and had terror links.

An official told news agency Kashmir Scroll that govt of J&K has terminated Public Relations Officer (PRO) of University of Kashmir Faheem Aslam, Revenue Department officer, Murawath Hussain Mir and Police Constable Arshid Ahmad Thoker from the service for actively working with Pakistani terror outfits, providing logistics to terrorists, propagating terrorists ideology, raising terror finances and furthering secessionist agenda.

J&K administration launched crackdown on the government employees who are connected with terrorists or propagate secessionism.

Says District Administration committed to provide better healthcare facilities to public

Budgam, July 14: The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Budgam, Akshay Labroo (IAS) today inaugurated NTPHC at Mazhama in Magam area of the district.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the District Administration Budgam is committed to provide better Healthcare facilities to the general public of the district.
He said that all those health related assets which are completed or nearing completion shall be commissioned on top priority to dedicate these assets to public welfare.
DC said that in order to improve health care system and dedicate health related assets including PHC Kanir and other PHCs and NTPHCs were thrown open to cater better patient care to the people of the area.
He said that also a District Hospital project was approved by AC chaired by Hon’ ble Lieutenant Governor recently and work on the same shall be started soon.
The DC called for the robust functioning of the NTPHC Mazhama and urged locals to avail benefits of all health related facilities and schemes at the health centre.
DDC Member Narbal, Reyaz Ahmad, SDM Beerwah, CMO, Tehsildar, SDPO and other officers, local representatives were present on the occasion.

*Govt trying to hide reality of J&K before Supreme Court: Mehbooba M***i*

Srinagar, July 12 (KNS): People's Democratic Party (PDP) President and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, on Wednesday accused the government of attempting to mislead the Supreme Court regarding the situation in Jammu and Kashmir following the abrogation of Article 370.

Expressing her confidence in the integrity of the Chief Justice of India, M***i expressed hope that the Supreme Court would ensure justice for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing a press conference, the PDP chief alleged that the government was presenting a false image of normalcy in the region to influence the court's perception and called for a fair assessment of the ground reality.

The PDP chief urged the Supreme Court to thoroughly examine the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, taking into account the concerns of the people. She stated, "The integrity of the Chief Justice of India is unquestionable, and I trust that the Supreme Court will deliver justice to the people of Jammu and Kashmir," she said.(KNS).

DGP, J&K inspects progress of maintenance & restoration work of NHW

Visits Lambar, Panthyal, Seri, Transit Camps Banihal & Walnut Factory

Directs NHAI, concerned departments to expedite maintenance work

Ensure all necessary measures are taken for safe & smooth travel of the yatris, tourists & of locals

Srinagar, July 11: The Director General of Police, J&K, Shri Dilbag Singh today visited NH-44 Banihal-Ramban stretch to take the first hand report of the progress of maintenance & restoration work of the national highway. He was accompanied by IGP Traffic Shri B. S. Tuti. The DGP visited Lambar, Panthyal & Seri to inspect road maintenance work and also visited yatri transits camps at Banihal & Walnut factory in Anantnag.

He was joined by ADGP Jammu Zone Shri Mukesh Singh, DIG DKR range Shri Sunil Gupta, DIG Traffic Jammu Shri Shridhar Patil, SP Ramban Ms Mohita Sharma, SSP Traffic NHW Shri Rohit Baskotra in Ramban.

The DGP inspected the restoration works of dilapidated roads at Lambar, Panthyal & Seri in Ramban. Project Director NHAI officer Shri Parshotam Kumar briefed the DGP about the progress of the ongoing maintenance work. Measures being taken to address the issues were discussed and certain necessary directions were given on spot by the DGP for the smooth passage of the traffic on NHW.

Expressing his satisfaction over the maintenance work going on and measures taken for restoration of traffic, the DGP instructed the executing agency to ensure completion of work on war footing and directed to keep adequate machinery at all vulnerable places to clear roads. He directed all the concerned departments to expedite the work to ensure that all necessary measures are taken for the safe and smooth travel of the yatris, tourists and of locals.

He further directed senior traffic and jurisdictional officers to formulate a traffic plan for smooth flow of traffic movement, adding that there would be heavy rush of vehicles in view of restriction of traffic movement d
