Are women even happy?

The woman I see through the observatory window isn’t who they think she is. Her movements, draped in a cloak of societal expectation, might seem soft, even meek. But beneath the surface, a fire burns. Throughout history, countless women have had a powerful inner fire. Society fears this potential for change and tries to hold them back.

These women, underestimated at every turn, own a strength forged in the crucible of sacrifice. They fight not only for their own identities, but for the well-being of those they love. They are the unwavering pillars of families, the silent anchors in communities. They don’t need awards or fame to be honourable. Their everyday victories are what truly matter.

But what if this fire, instead of being feared, was harnessed?

I imagine a world where the strength of women wasn’t a threat, but a driving force. A world where empathy, not dominance, guides our interactions. A world built by women who value caring for others, working together, and finding solutions, not creating problems.

This isn’t a utopia – it’s a world waiting to be built. And as I watch this woman, underestimated but unwavering, I see a cornerstone. She may be one, but she represents millions. Millions who, when they finally rise together, will light the way to the future where everyone has the same chances.

Where there is empowered future for all.

एक हाथ बाहर निकाल, उसे चख लें थोड़ा

किसी और की चमक में ख़ुशी तो मिल सकती है,
मगर उसे अपना समझने की भूल से,
आख़िर बचे कैसे?

ये तस्वीरें 29 जनवरी, 2024 की हैं।

अयोध्या में प्राण प्रतिष्ठा को हुए एक हफ़्ता गुज़र गया है। मगर गणतंत्र दिवस, जिसका एक उद्देश ही है, हमारे संविधान के विषय में समाज के बीच एक नयी चेतना स्थापित करना, उस देश प्रेम की लहर और ध्वनि कुछ कम ही लगी।

छतों पर झंडे तो थे, मगर तिरंगा छुप छुप कर दिख रहा था।
सड़के भी ‘भगवा युक्त-तिरंगा मुक्त’ लगी इस बार।

धर्म के नशे से सुन्न हुए..मालवीय नगर जैसी दिल्ली की कॉलोनी में,
मेरे देश का ध्वज भी rent पर 3 bhk plus attached bathroom में दुबक कर रहता हुआ नज़र आया।

Some friends at the farm.

Nestled in a small town called Banda in Uttar Pradesh, Prem Singh ki Bagiya, is a simple haven where life unfolds naturally.

The day started with the chirping of migratory and local birds. Soon, other residents woke up longing for the fodder to kick off their day. The rhythmic hum of the Charaa cutter, sets the tone for a genuine farm experience.

Young calves bring joy as they feel excited to see new faces or my camera closing in.

The farm worker, weathered but wise, collect fodder with a quiet dedication, establishing the timeless connection between people and the land. Here, time slows, and the farm becomes a sanctuary where life’s beauty lies in its simplicity…echoing the belief that true fulfillment is discovered in the uncomplicated rhythm of life.

Meet Prem Singh, the man who turned a drought-stricken patch of Bundelkhand into a thriving oasis of natural farming.

Decades ago, when the country was choosing speed over quality in agriculture, Singh stuck to his core values of trusting in the learnings that has shaped India’s farming and sustainable landscape for centuries.

Had an enlightening time, visiting him at his farm in Banda about 600km away from Delhi.

What worse than baseless puffery you may ask?

It’s the common man’s suffering.

PM Modi has been a spectacle when it comes to flagging off new trains in his concluding 10 year tenure.

Where on one side, the government claims superior advancements in public transport services and safety features like “Kavach”, in reality the situation is not even close.

This year has seen a sharp spike in rail accidents, with almost no accountability pinned on people in high places. What’s left is the echoing frustration of people that gets no support from any media or institution. As if these problems are not even worth considering.

Does a person who only has access to General Coaches, continue to struggle just like how it was doing pre-independent era? Does he not deserve any growth whatsoever?

What sort of ‘Desh-hit’ is this? It saddens me to see an old man struggling to sit straight, a kid forced to excrete on rail roads, through windows and doors.

Through unbearable, difficult and extremely stressful situations, the common man of India travels in this mainland, all just to provide two basic meal for his family even if that means he needs to sleep empty stomach.

Such is life in today’s India.
