The grand unparalled legacy of our ancestors..!

The largest functioning Hindu Temple in the World,

The Temple was looted & destroyed by the Delhi Sultanate armies in early 14th century & subsequently rebuilt in late 14th century.

Amazing sculpture of Indradev-Sachidevi riding on Airavat 🐘

The image shows a beautifully carved sculptural relief depicting Indra, the king of Svarga and devas (demigods), seated majestically on his vehicle Airavata, a white elephant, with his wife Indrani (also known as Sachi) seated behind him.

This sculpture is mounted on the outer wall surrounding the southern garbhagriha of the Somanathapura Keshava Temple, located in Karnataka, BHARAT (India) 🚩

As you can see from the image, Indra is wielding Vajrayuda (Thunderbolt), his signature weapon, with his right hand and holding a lotus bud with his left hand.

Indra is also one of the Ashta Dikpalas (guardians of the eight directions), and his job is to guard the east direction.

The 108 Shiva Temple Complex in Kalna, West Bengal.

It was built by Maharaja Teja Chandra Bahadur in 1809 after getting ownership of the royal estate of Bishnupur.

The temple structure is a combination of 2 concentric circles, with chala styled small temples dedicated to Bhagwan Shiva. The 108 number represent the 108 beads in a japmala. The outer circle has 74 temples & the inner one has 34 temples, & each has a Shiva linga in its sanctum.

The lingas in the inner circle are all white, while the outer circle shrines hold black lingas.

The temple walls depict various episodes from the Ramayana and Mahabharata.

Halebidu (IAST: Haḷēbīḍ, literally "old capital, city, encampment"is a town located in Hassan District, Karnataka, India. Historically known as Dorasamudra (also Dwarasamudra), Halebidu became the regal capital of the Hoysala Empire in the 11th century CE.Halebeedu or Halebid as the phonetic equivalent, a local name after it was damaged and deserted after being ransacked and looted twice by the forces of the Delhi Sultanate in the 14th century.

Halebidu is home to some of the best examples of Hindu and Jain temples with Hoysala architecture. These show the breadth of Hindu artwork traditions – Shiva, Vishnu, Devi and Vedic deities – fused into the same temple complex, depicted with a diversity of regional heritages, along with inscriptions in scripts from South and North India. The Hindu temples include Jaina reliefs in its panel. Similarly, the Jaina artwork includes the different Tirthankara as well as a Saraswati within its mantapa. Most notable among the Halebidu monuments are the ornate Hoysalesvara temple, Kedareshwara temple, Jaina Basadi temples, as well as the Hulikere step well (kalyani). These sites are within a kilometer of each other.The Hoysaleshwara Temple remains the only surviving monument in Halebidu.

The Javari Temple in Khajuraho, India, is a Hindu temple, which forms part of the Khajuraho Group of Monuments, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was built between c. 975 and 1100 AD.

The temple is dedicated to the Hindu deity Shiva. The main idol of the temple is broken and headless.

The temple is located in the eastern area of Khajuraho. It is near to and visible from Vamana Temple, and at a distance of about 200 meters (south) from it.

It has well-proportioned architecture, with a sanctum, vestibule, mandapa and portico, but without pradakshinapatha. It has remable Makara Torana (Capricorn Arch) and shikhara (top). It has three bands of carved sculptures on the outer wall. The temple has a close resemblance with Chaturbhuja Temple, also at Khajuraho.

The basics of Hinduism started from the Sindhu Saraswati civilisation. Very clear from the found artefacts of Mother goddesses and ringstones (yoni), the worship of which is now known as Saktism; along with the many found lingams that is nothing but Shaivism.

Even the Panchatantra tales (later copied to form Aesop’s fables), had their start here, as evident from various stories depicted on Harappan pottery that are closely related to Panchatantra tales.

The one in the image here is clearly the story of the ‘thirsty deer & the crow.’

The Tripurantaka chariot & the bow and arrow were made of various divinities:

Chariot: Prithvi
Charioteer: Brahma
Chariot Wheels: Surya and Chandra
Bow: Meru Parvat
Bow String: Naga Vasuki
Arrow: Vishnu
Tripurantaka Shiva, where Bhagwan Shiva destroyed Tripuri, three revolving aerial cities that belonged to the three Asura brothers, Taarakaaksha, Kamalaaksha, and Vidyunmaali, using a single arrow.
Interestingly, the bow and arrow and the chariot that Shiva created to end Tripuri was made using various gods & goddesses. As the three cities converged momentarily (a rare event), Shiva mounted on his chariot & using the bow & arrow hit the 3 cities with a single arrow. Har Har Mahadev 🙏🙏🙏

The Ellora cave temples are an artistic sangam or confluence of the three great religions of India – Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism. The 34 caves, excavated into the vertical face of a crescent-shaped hill, span a period of about 600 years between 5 to 11 AD. The centerpiece at Ellora is, undoubtedly, the magnificent Kailasa temple – the largest monolithic structure in the world.

12 interesting scientific and Dharmic facts to know about Ram Setu !

1. The studies of Oceanography suggests that the bridge is 7000 years old.

2. The carbon dating of beaches near Dhanushkodi & Mannar Island sync with the date of Ramayan

3. The bridge was passable on foot up to the 15th century until storms deepened the channel. Some records suggest that Ram Setu was completely above sea level till 1480 when it was broken by a cyclone.

4. The bridge is 50 km long and separates the Gulf of Mannar from the Palk Strait.

5. 5.Ram Setu is also named Adam's Bridge, Nala Setu, and Setu Banda.

6. Ram Setu is taken as an archaeological and historical evidence of Ramayana.

7. The bridge was first mentioned in Valmiki's Ramayana

8. When Prabhu Shri Ram reached the end of Bharat bhoomi he prayed to Samudra dev for a solution to cross to Lanka

9. Samudra dev, after Shri Ram lost his calm, mentioned that two vanars aka Nal and Neel from his sena have a boon where if they throw a stone into water the stones would never sink.

10. Upon hearing this, the entire sena started writing Prabhu Ram’s name on heavy stones while Nal and Neel threw them into the water to create a bridge

11. NASA images and prescence of floating stones in the area are compelling pointers to the historical existence of Ram Setu bridge

12. At this beautiful place one could gaze upon the chain of reefs, sandbanks and the islets that almost connect Sri Lanka with Bharat.
