Sports now requires extra measures especially contact sports. For individual sports mostly at-home sanitary measures should be good enough.

Sports after covid has been about taking measures to leverage moratoriums of any sort. Pivoting or awareness programs. I’m more on the latter side. Recreational sports works closely in tune with entertainment, Gym and fitness models.

Panic is evident, and there is a drastic fall in nos. We’ve pivoted by participating and promoting educational/awareness related programs and products. Yet to monetise though.”

A health and temperature checkup camp was held in different parks of DLF -1 where resident sent their household helps to get them checked.

The reality is that gardeners part-time maids, drivers, security staff are scarce and this availability will only get worse. There has been a mass exodus from Chakkarpur, Sikanderpur, Sainikhera, Silokhra, Jharsa, and clusters of urban slums around DLF-1 which housed most of our domestic supports. The remainders, I spoke to, also shared that many of them plan to leave in the next few weeks. For most, financial insecurity coupled with the dread of the pandemic led to their exit. A lot who remain, are also facing trouble from the law enforcement.

Skygazers in India and Asia witnessed another celestial phenomenon on Sunday (June 21). It was an annular solar eclipse. According to IST the eclipse began at 9:15 AM and lasted till 3:04 PM. The maximum eclipse was visible around 2:10 PM. People from all parts of India witnessed it with different beliefs. The eclipse was visible from much of Asia, Africa, the Pacific, the Indian Ocean, parts of Europe and Australia. Story by Rahul Chandola

DLF-1 Under Containment Till July 8

DLF Phase 1 is divided into 3 sides, namely, the Mega Mall side, the Silver Oaks Apartments side & Arjun Marg & Qutab Plaza side. There are total 11 Gates in DLF phase 1 out of which gate no 2 & 7 are permanently closed due to security reasons. Gate Nos. 5, 6, 8, 10 were closed due to containment orders. Essential traffic movement is being allowed from Gate nos 1,3, 4, 9 & 11 & all deliveries were also allowed from these Gates.

Blood Donation Camp

Gurgaon Citizens Council organised a blood donation in association with Navkalp Foundation and Lions Blood Bank at 49 Arjun Marg DLF Phase 1 on 17 May 2020 under the aegis of R.S.Rathee. More than 50 people came and donated blood. Addl. Municipal Commissioner, Amardeep Jain presented the donors with certificates.

Erratic Garbage Collection

MCG Councilor R.S.Rathee had a meeting with a private vendor as well as Ecogreen team regarding the smoothening of garbage collection. He apprised them that for the last couple of days garbage collection is very irregular, and residents are facing problems, and complaining like no timings of collection, demanding of money etc.

The Green Belt in front of their house was in shambles & they thought what could they do in an Individual capacity to change the face of the Green Belt and how they could change it into a Beautiful Lush Green space which will drive Residents to come & enjoy the natural beauty & work towards a Healthy Living . Mr Gupta got 80 truck loads of Malba removed from the Green belt . He also got in touch with the HBRC team & showed his desire to improve the Green belt from Gate No 1 to Gate No 2.

Now after the relaxations, life has become little bit normal. Mali’s are seen in the gardens where Residents were working hard to save the plants.. Now saloons are open. Ladies are rushing to get their hair and facials done. Male faces which were hidden under heavy beards and long hair are regaining their identity.

Civil Defence Team worked tirelessly ensuring Dry Ration, Cooked Food, & Smooth Movement of Migrants

The Civil Defence Team would ensure that they were given breakfast, lunch and also cooked food for the way. The Migrants were put up on buses and trains to their respective towns. Civil Defence volunteers literally assisted every migrant and helped in on the spot registrations of migrants who came there without registration.

No More Shopping Carts of Reliance Fresh

A Block Extn. RWA has now restricted the use of shopping carts from the Reliance Fresh store which were being brought by the shoppers all the way to the houses. Someone from the store was going on rounds of the block and collecting them to bring them back to the store! Even though the service offered was quite innovative, to curb the spread of the virus, residents are now being told to bring their cars to the gate and load their groceries there.

Wagging Tails
After lockdown, strays in A-Block were seen becoming more ferocious and barking at residents and a few even tried to attack residents. Reena Duggal was the first one to respond and activate the group.The group, which has around 20 volunteers, will take up the responsibility of feeding and neutering the dogs in the block.

Salil Agrawal (Silver Oaks) Brings Out A Crowd Sourced Book. Each story is different and that makes the book very interesting. I particularly liked the story written by him – Man Proposes God Disposes. I think the recent lockdown is a classic scenario where many of our plans got derailed. Nobody could have imagined that our life could be so different.

A very peaceful, disciplined and friendly lockdown is being observed in Silver Oaks. All the restrictions of maintaining distance, wearing masks, going out only for essentials, seniors not able to come out are being dealt with very sincerely; as everyone knows it’s for one’s own safety.
