State-run Sassoon hospital registered a case of pregnant woman who had fever a week before the delivery. Her baby's nasal swab, placenta and umbilical stump tested positive for Covid-19, tested by the RT-PCR method. The antibody test of the mother showed that she had contracted a mild Covid-19 infection in the past. The baby was given high oxygen flow support for a week. The mother and baby recovered and were discharged in 3 weeks.

Nearly all hopes of extinguishing COVID-19 are riding on a still-hypothetical vaccine. And so a refrain has caught on: We might have to stay home until we have a vaccine. Close schools until we have a vaccine. Wear masks but only until we have a vaccine. During these months of misery, this mantra has offered a small glimmer of hope. Normal life is on the other side, and we just have to wait until we have a vaccine.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said that the people of the national capital, his government, and the Centre have attained victory over COVID-19 together but the fight is not over yet. While speaking at the inauguration of a 450-bed Delhi government hospital in Burari, Kejriwal added that the COVID-19 positivity rate has reduced in Delhi and recovery rate has improved.

Central Pollution Control Board ( CPCB) has directed that waste masks and gloves in general households should be kept in paper bags for a minimum of 72 hours prior to disposal as dry general solid waste after cutting them to prevent reuse. It also directed commercial establishments, malls and offices to follow the same procedure with discarded PPE from general public.

An experimental COVID-19 vaccine, being developed by the University of Oxford, is safe and produced an immune response in early-stage clinical trials in healthy volunteers, according to trial results published in UK based medical Journal ‘The Lancet’. It said the vaccine, called AZD1222, developed by pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca and scientists at Britain's University of Oxford, did not prompt any serious side effects and induced strong antibody and T-cell immune responses.

Google has said that it will be blocking more ads from its websites that promote COVID-19 conspiracy theories starting next month. It will use human and automated reviews to locate and act against rule-breaking web publishers and advertisers. Google said sites that repeatedly or egregiously violate its policies on COVID-19 conspiracy theories might get banned from using Google ad platforms.
