आम आदमी पार्टी के वरिष्ठ नेता एवं राज्यसभा सांसद संदीप पाठक ने प्रैस संवाददाताओं को बताया कि, दिल्ली के पूर्व उपमुख्यमंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया ने 14 अगस्त से पूरी दिल्ली में पदयात्रा करेंगे। उन्होने भाजपा एवं प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी पर निशाना साधते हुए कहा कि, "ये लोग पार्टी तोड़ने का काम कर रहें हैं। लेकिन अब जनता सब कुछ समझ चुकी है।" पार्टी के नेताओं के अनुसार इस पदयात्रा को एक महत्वपूर्ण राजनीतिक कदम माना जा रहा है।

Bangladesh Chief Justice Resigns Amid Massive Protests at Supreme Court

In a dramatic turn of events, Bangladesh Chief Justice Obaidul Hassan has resigned following massive protests outside the Supreme Court in Dhaka. The protesters, led by the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, had issued an ultimatum for the resignations of the Chief Justice and other Appellate Division judges by 1:00 PM today, threatening to besiege the judges' residences if their demands were not met.

As the demonstrations intensified, protesters surrounded the Supreme Court and presented an ultimatum for the prompt resignation of Chief Justice Hassan. They cautioned that unless their demand was met, they would proceed to besiege the residences of the judges and Chief Justice Hassan.

In response to the massive protests and ultimatum, Chief Justice Obaidul Hassan announced his resignation. He stated that he would meet with President Mohammed Shahabuddin later in the evening to tender his resignation. The resignation of the Chief Justice comes amidst a larger backdrop of national unrest in Bangladesh, which erupted following the government's attempt to increase the 10% quota in government jobs to 56%. The protests turned violent, resulting in the government retracting the amended quota. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has issued a stern warning to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann regarding the deteriorating law and order situation affecting National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) projects in the state. In a letter dated August 9, Gadkari stated that three projects in Punjab, totaling 104 km and costing ₹3,263 crore, have already been terminated due to safety concerns. He emphasized that if the situation does not improve, NHAI will be forced to cancel or terminate eight additional projects, which span 293 km and are valued at ₹14,288 crore. The minister highlighted incidents of violence against NHAI staff and contractors, including assaults and threats, urging the state government to take immediate corrective action to ensure safety and progress on infrastructure projects. The Punjab government has yet to take specific actions in response to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari's letter regarding the law and order situation affecting National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) projects.

Manish Sisodia Addresses AAP Workers After Release from Jail

Former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, addressed Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers at the party headquarters on DDU Marg on Saturday, a day after being granted bail in the Delhi excise policy case. Sisodia, who was in custody for 17 months, praised the Supreme Court's verdict, saying it used the power of the constitution to ensure his release.

Sisodia, joined by senior AAP figures like Sanjay Singh and Saurabh Bharadwaj, paid homage at Rajghat to Mahatma Gandhi before his address to the party workers. He also visited a Hanuman temple in Connaught Place to seek blessings.

At the temple, Sisodia stated, "I prayed to Lord Bajrangbali and received his blessings... Arvind Kejriwal will soon be blessed by him as well." He praised the constitution's power for securing his release and expressed faith in Kejriwal's impending release.

During his speech to the party members, Sisodia mentioned their commitment to continue the work initiated by Arvind Kejriwal for education, healthcare, utilities, and public welfare. दिल्ली के पूर्व उपमुख्यमंत्री मनीष सिसोदिया को प्रवर्तन निदेशालय (ED) और केंद्रीय जांच ब्यूरो (CBI) द्वारा चलाए जा रहे मामलों में जमानत मिल गई है। सिसोदिया पर भ्रष्टाचार और मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग के गंभीर आरोप लगे थे, जिनके तहत उन्हें गिरफ्तार किया गया था।

Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned and left the country during growing protests demanding her resignation. She landed at the Hindon Indian Air Force base in Ghaziabad, near Delhi, at approximately 6 pm on Monday on a C-130 Bangladesh Air Force transport plane.

Bangladesh's Army Chief, General Waker-Uz-Zaman, has declared that he will assume control amidst a pivotal period for the nation and set up an interim government. Meanwhile, the 76-year-old Hasina is said to be en route to London via India.

The demonstrations, which began as opposition to a government job quota system, have expanded into a wider uprising against Prime Minister Hasina and the ruling Awami League party. The death toll has exceeded 300, and close to 1,500 people have been injured.
